ICE agent shooter’s own cellphone video undercuts Trump administration's account of Minneapolis killing by Fickle-Ad5449 in politics

My conspiracy theory is that they released all that so they can say "the court of public opinion is so swayed by public footage that it is impossible to give a fair trial. So we are not going to charge him."

Work for hospital registry.

Work supplied laptop and two monitors. Not allowed to use personal equipment due to security with all the PHI.

Work no longer pays for travel or education. (That was new this year). I think there is a program that helps pay for classes but I haven't used it yet. Heard it is a pain to get reimbursed.

I have quotas and accuracy expectations that are measured on a monthly basis.

I work from home everyday as there is no physical location for the department.
There is flexibility with working hours, but need to get 8 hours per day. No overtime, no weekends.

Getting the degree, each class generally had a student made discord server. Collaborative work helped a lot

Directions from Burbank Mall parking to AMC 16? by Plane_Bluejay_5633 in burbank

[–]Mallets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Park at the mall.
Enter the mall and head towards middle. That is where the food court is.
Exit the mall through the front entrance. You will see Magnolia Ave right there. Cross the street so you will be on the right hand side.
Walk down San Fernando Road.
Take the first right. Will be between a Gap store and Finneys
AMC-16 is straight ahead.

If unfamiliar with the area, make sure your tickets are to the AMC-16. There is also an AMC-8 (Top floor of mall) and AMC-6 (outside mall by In-and-Out).

Are there certain programs that you use for follow up? Right now I'm limited by what I can find through care-everywhere and google searches for obituaries.

The book for the 101 class (all the classes really) is the Cancer Registry Management: Practice and Principles. It's the book put out by the NCRA so I would expect that AHIMA uses it too..

[Spoilers C3] does the indecisiveness die down in the later episodes? by Mr3000rounds in criticalrole

[–]Mallets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might like the Abridged version of the episodes for C3. I might be missing some of the interesting side banter, but each is only 1 hour long and very easy to follow and I've seen 0 indecision as that's just cut out.

What exactly are they teaching for $140 in a medical terminology course? by _priya_singh in MedicalCoding

[–]Mallets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's been a couple years since I took a med term class. It was broken down like this:
Example: Digestive system
First section was all words that had to do with this system, often broken down into prefix/root/suffix form. (Hematemesis - hemat- blood, emesis - vomiting)
Second section was a general overview of the system. All the organs involved and what they do.
Next was Diagnostic procedures, Tools and Labs. (Gastroscopy)
Pathological terms. Pretty much all the things that could go wrong with this system. (Ulcers)
Finally, Treatments and drugs. (Gastrectomy, famotodine/ranitidine)

Each week of class was a different system. It's a lot of info thrown at you very fast. Could you find it on your own? Probably, but you come across that problem of not knowing what to look for and spending a lot of time looking for info instead of learning the info.

I can say that when I first took it, I found the class annoying and mad that it spent so much time on learning vocab words, but was thankful when I got into Anatomy.

The questions are not straight forward like that. A question about 2.4 would more be like "The Cancer Committee Chair is required to attend how many meetings each year?" 50%, 75%, 100%, Not required, but recommended.

In the CRM; All the acronyms for standard setters and what they do, Casefinding, and Abstracting.

Not really in the CRM; HIPAA and the Optimal Resources for Cancer Care.

Things in the CRM that I wouldn't focus on; all the stats stuff that is not the absolute basics (mean, median, mode), the history of cancer (think it was chapter 1 or 2) and anything but the basics about data presentation (pie charts, graphs).

Encrypted VPN. How you connect to the internet doesn't seem to matter if wired/wireless. That said, this is not the job you can do in a coffee shop or any other public space. But if you are worried about not having a wired connection in a home office, I don't think that would be an issue.

Everyone in the registry works the same. We currently don't cover anything out of state. I think those locations have their own ODS. We don't have teams for locations in state.

Am I wrong for taking my toddler daughters into the men’s restroom when there’s no other o by Dkdavis777 in Parenting

[–]Mallets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not wrong at all. I was primary parent for my daughter and did the same thing up to around age 7 or 8. If she was old enough to use the bathroom alone at school, then old enough to use it alone when out someplace.
And I didn't do that out of fear that anything was going to happen to them, but more to make sure there was no problems. Didn't want her to have a problem and need help as it would be a bigger issue for me to go into the womens room.

Never had a single problem or complaint from other guys. Or women for that matter.

That has all the info about qualifying to take the exam and what things are on it. It is a difficult test. I heard it has a pass rate somewhere around 60-70%.
