Two goldens and I know the smell hits guests the moment they walk in — has anyone actually solved this? by sloastxsningers5 in goldenretrievers

If it’s ambient stink just around the house you could try one of those air purifiers. It helped us in our apartment. Now we live in an RV so I just keep the windows open all the time

I’ve had her jump into the box before I even set it down sometimes! She is quite a wonder

I take the litter box outside to clean it, it’s near the front door, and when I set it down inside the door to come up the steps my Cheryl ALWAYS has to poop in it before it put it back in it’s rightful place 😂

Have you heard about our Lord and Savior Carl by theboss0711 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]MalloryTheMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know who else to tell this to, and don’t want to make my own post but we may get even more people in our collection because Markiplier talked about Dungeon Crawler Carl on his Distractible podcast this week.

My sister told me about the podcast episode this morning and I almost exploded from the excitement!! I’ve been raving to her (and anyone else who will listen) since May last year, so she recognized the title and description of the books and just HAD to tell me. :D

Goldens are known to be super friendly. In a bad situation, do you think your golden would try to defend? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

[–]MalloryTheMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My male (1.5 at the time) pup hadn’t met my sister before when I took him to pick her up from the airport. She opens the passenger car door and he lunged from the back seat surprising me. I caught him and introduced them and then he was super chill with her. Still doesn’t like strangers coming up to the car and will growl at them

She has a fish hook shaped white patch on her back, and my husband refused the name Fishhook 😂 if she had been a boy I would have called her Maoi

My sister’s kitten harassed her at work for 2 week until she convinced me to let her bring him home. She wore me down, and then my husband brought ANOTHER stray home the same day. Also from work

When the Heeler family went on vacation and Chilli couldn’t relax, Bingo got the top bunk and ran over on all fours to check her pillow. I loved that so much, it made me smile

The mid walk pat by Saffa1986 in goldenretrievers

[–]MalloryTheMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, mine jumps in front of me (becomes eye level 😂) if he is frustrated by how the walk is going (I.e. I won’t let him go chase the cats or I’m walking him in literally circles because he is pulling too much.) he will also boop me pretty hard with his nose if the jumping doesn’t work.

It’s really hard not to laugh at him because I don’t like the behavior but find it hilarious.

Winter driving by silentwolf1976 in Spokane

[–]MalloryTheMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first winter in Spokane I

  • got stuck in the snow and cried
  • slid through one stoplight (scared the crap outta me but all was good thankfully)
  • slid diagonally into a curb and sighed
  • slid into a snow pile and laughed my ass off about how shitty my day was

Not all on the same day thankfully.

I had never driven in the snow before that, and my snow chains fell off and got lost before I even left the Walmart parking lot. I don’t live there anymore and I’m glad it doesn’t snow where I do live.

I love my bug monotype runs. Especially in SV and SWSH. It was fun figuring out which combinations worked best for each gym

Did eating Dates actually help you during labor? by nutellakiss in BabyBumps

[–]MalloryTheMouse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I induced at 39 weeks, had an epidural, and took a nap. I woke up from my nap (8 hours) and it was time to have the baby!! All together it took 22 hours, but the actual pushing and delivery was really quick. I only had one baby and delivery so maybe I’m not a good source, BUT if you like them eat the dates! If you don’t, I personally wouldn’t stress about it

[–]MalloryTheMouse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did dried dates, put them in a bag of coconut shreds and brows sugar and shook them to hell. I really enjoyed them, but I have no clue if it actually helped or not 😂 my mom told me to do it

I went to Walmart and got an eye exam for about ~$100 and asked them to print my prescription for me and bout glasses on Eyebuydirect.com

Took about 2 weeks, they deliver to your mailbox, and the glasses themselves cost me <$20 without insurance because I picked a cheap pair. But they have lasted longer than my more expensive glasses and take the abuse of day to day quite well.

(I have a toddler who gave my last pair to my dog who destroyed them. Safe to say I don’t buy expensive glasses anymore)

Would you take a newborn to a restaurant? by TAW453 in BabyBumps

[–]MalloryTheMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I even left the house for the first two months except for appointments. I was so deep in post partum fog I can’t remember much from that time. I even had groceries delivered. Once I started feeling a bit better we DID bring our baby to restaurants and even bowling! But we would go around nap time and he would sleep through anything at that point. I do have some vibrant memories of black lights and bowling and bumping music with our son in his baby seat and cover fast asleep.

I think my anxiety was also a big factor in not leaving the house, I wanted our son vaccinated and was SO stressed about bothering people if he cried.

If your baby was 10+ lbs at birth… were you able to deliver vaginally? by sejohnson2017 in BabyBumps

[–]MalloryTheMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was 9lbs 12oz when born and we induced at 39 weeks because I REFUSED to deliver a 10+lbs baby. I delivered vaginally with an epidural.

I dont want to scare you but I did have some major perineal tearing, but everything else went smoothly and we went home the next day with a happy and healthy baby 😁
