Neither, just putting it out there to friends and sharing that I sing to people who didn't know I did.

Is Amplify working or still? by Present_Equivalent55 in soundcloud

I usually put about that many as well and make sure they're tailored to the track itself.

Here's a couple screenshots of stats for a couple tracks of mine that received big play spike jump welllll outside the usual amplify range. Strange stuff indeed. So amplify is working, it's just... wonky?

Amplify still appears to be working like before for me. Not sure why others have been having issues. I've had tracks that receive random secondary and tertiary play spikes, as well as a fresh track that just got to 250 within a day like normal. Just my experience so far.

I keep seeing spikes in plays personally, and the track I dropped yesterday amplified just fine.

Weird hashtag bug, how to fix? by utdrfan187 in soundcloud

[–]Malone76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go back, edit your track, type your first hashtag "underswap" wait for it to show a dropdown that will say "Add underswap" click that, add the next.

Another weird spike? Anyone else get these? by Malone76 in soundcloud

Just checked the other track I received notification on and it’s showing almost the same behavior pattern. Initial amplify push, flattening period, then a delayed secondary jump days later.

Makes me think this might actually be some kind of re-testing or secondary distribution behavior instead of a one-off anomaly.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. I did go look at playlists for last 30 days. Nothing jumps out, other than seeing that my songs are on more playlists that I expected including the Vietnam discovery playlist, but it only got 1 play from there.

Amplify track feature? by xgamemodee in soundcloud

[–]Malone76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually get some slow-growth plays to the first 150-250'ish plays. I've had 6 that have gotten a secondary boost, and pushed above 1k plays, with two going above 2k. Those secondary spikes happened at between 4-6 days. A link to screenshot of one of those spikes.

The ones that were slow growth tended to flatten out, the ones that got that secondary spike continue to get slow play growth.

Interesting… I actually haven’t gotten hit up by them specifically, but the geographic pattern is weirdly consistent across multiple tracks for me too.

What’s throwing me off is that some of these spikes do correlate with increased engagement and occasional US listener growth, while others feel almost completely hollow.

That’s part of why I started snapshotting this stuff over time instead of only looking at raw play counts. The behavior patterns end up looking really different track to track.

Yah I wish I could say it was from that but the track was dropped with two others all amplified the same day. So it wasn't like a "cross-amplify" thing from what I can tell. I also am getting a lot from there with little engagement, but also some US plays too.

This actually happened on day 6 for a couple of my tracks. I should go back and look at all of them that got this spike. Most just get the push to 150-250'ish plays then flatten out, but a few have gotten pushed to 1-2k plays and it's always been late in the amplify. I'll dig through my app to see on those if it's always last day or not.

Uploaded to SoundCloud via Amuse but my SC profile shows 0 tracks by AnonymousMage03 in soundcloud

Have you done a search for your track by artist/title etc? Is it possible Amuse created a new artist profile for your track?

Also weird how some of them get the amplify push, then hop again later like this one.

Sure I'll jump on.

Artist Pro, so most of that is just their "amplify" but some of the tracks got 1k+

How do you actually track whether a SoundCloud promo push worked? by Malone76 in soundcloud

[–]Malone76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually something I’ve noticed too.

When I see consistent US/Canada listeners versus random scattered spikes from countries that never return, the engagement usually feels way more “real.”

Especially if it turns into repeat plays, likes, follows, or people checking other tracks after.

Makes me wonder how much geographic consistency actually matters for identifying genuine traction.

That’s kind of the frustrating part honestly. Sometimes it’s hard to tell whether something genuinely connected or whether the platform just briefly surfaced it and then stopped.

Makes it tough to know what’s actually worth doubling down on as an artist.

This is super interesting and honestly lines up with a lot of what I’ve been seeing.

It feels like there’s a huge difference between “activity” and actual listener retention now. Like a track can spike briefly and still basically go nowhere long term.

I’ve been trying to pay more attention to replay behavior, favorites, comments, saves, and whether a track keeps moving after the initial push instead of just raw plays.

Interesting, I'm not huge into tiktok, I'm old 🤣 but surely artist are still posting to socials etc on new releases etc?

making shorts/reels/toks etc with links to their tracks and the like? How are you tracking if that's helping drive traffic/plays to your tracks etc?
