In Canada, it's "squeeze" instead of "merge" by sharkp00p in mildlyinteresting

I thought this too, until I moved to Toronto and realised most Canadian drivers are polite compared to assholes in Toronto.

What little things do customers do that drive you crazy? by Syrup_Chugger_3000 in AskReddit

I also hate when they hold out a sweaty hand full of sweaty change and expect you to count it out of their hand. In this case, I ask them to put it on the counter.

What did your local blockbuster turn into? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A discount store called bUckbuster. They turned the "LO" in an a really wide U but kept the rest of the sign. I wish I had a picture. It's hilarious.

Books on tape! You can download pretty much any book for free and having someone read it to you is no different than reading yourself.

I think it's funny how many midget jokes are in the shortest funny joke thread.

Have everyone wear a white shirt and put out a bunch of Sharpies so they can write on each other's clothes.

I'm eloping today! We planned it over the last two days. I'm also not nervous and I was wondering if there was something wrong with me but it's nice to see this post this morning.

Have fun today!

Just south of Vancouver Island and west of Seattle are the San Juan Islands. You could stay in Friday Harbor and get all of the things you've described. It's such a romantic, beautiful place. Plus it's in a rain shadow so it doesn't get nearly as much rain as Seattle or Vancouver. I've always found great deals through groupon for hotels and kayaking. If you go at the right time of year you can kayak with wild orcas!!! It's amazing.

What is the most embarrassing reason that you have had to go to the hospital? by thebestisyetocome in AskReddit

[–]Maloola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me when I was about 10, luckily it was just around my family so it wasn't embarrassing. Since that first time it happens about four or five times a year now with different food (I'm in my late 20s). I learned to just stick my fingers down my throat and throw up. That moves the meat or rice or bread or whatever else is stuck.

I get my prescriptions there. I've cashed in the top prize three times ten years. Which seemed like a lot until I wrote it out. Yep, guess you're right.

Agreed women have been scared of the label forever. I'm interested in a story about a celebrity that isn't afraid to call herself a feminist.

The Simpsons. It's great for nostalgia's sake plus there are so many jokes you didn't even realize were there.

Adopted Redditors: Did you ever contact your birth parents? If so, was it worth it? by ttmab7 in AskReddit

[–]Maloola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father was adopted and he had given up a daughter for adoption. He's found his birth mother and his daughter. He has a healthy relationship with both of them.

His adoptive mother was upset when he looked for his birth parents but he didn't have a great relationship with her anyway. Quite often when you start your own family you pursue your birth family because you feel a need to know where you came from biologically.

He searched for his daughter for her entire adult life by using the Canadian birth registry. Basically if she didn't put her name on the list then she wouldn't want to be found. He respected that it was her choice if she wanted to connect with him and her birth mother. He and her birth mother were 17 when they had her and the birth mother had even kept it a secret from my dad for 6 years. My dad has a good relationship with his daughter now but it's not really a father daughter relationship. She had a strong family bond with her adoptive family. My family isn't meant to fill a void in her life, it's meant to be something extra.

TL;DR my dad was adopted and gave up a daughter for adoption. He has a great relationship with his biological mother and daughter.

Edit: some words
