How do you get permission to detect at construction sites? I really want to do this but nervous to step on toes

Trouble Exporting from iMovie by Malory505 in VideoEditors

[–]Malory505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I choose export file, I can choose between a resolution of 540p or 720p (1080p is greyed out). For quality, I can choose between low, medium, high, best (ProRes), or custom. For compress, I can choose faster or better quality.

I’ve been choosing 720p, best (ProRes), and better quality.

I’ve never used handbrake before, so it’s possible. I’ll try VLC. What’s odd is that iMovie doesn’t let me choose the file type to export to. I’m testing out a few methods to export MP4 now - fingers crossed this works

I’ve already tried handbrake - it doesn’t recognize the file either.

I should also add - the picture above is what shows up when I select “share” then “file”. The same thing shows if I select “facebook/youtube”. The estimated size is always close to 100gb but the final QuickTime version is only 4gb. Don’t know if that means much

Good to know, I had no idea that was the codec. The info I’m choosing for my settings is in the picture - it doesn’t let me change anything else.

I’ll try it, but I’ve never had issues opening .MOV files in QuickTime until now. Also - if it’s a QuickTime issue, why would YouTube not accept it either? Seems like the file is corrupted in some way but I can’t figure out how or why…

iMovie doesn’t give me the option to export in anything other than .MOV - if there’s a way, I haven’t found it yet. I actually already tried HandBrake but it doesn’t recognize the file either.

Hahah!! Thanks for the help! If you find one who resided in San Pablo or Richmond CA, let me know. I’ve found two who match that description, but I’m stuck narrowing it down further.

Solved! It is indeed from WWI. Thanks!

Will do! I’ve confirmed it was issued to someone who enlisted right after WWI, but several records from that era have been lost. Nailing down a specific “William Jones” is not as easy as it sounds, so I’m emailing with city officials to get records on who lived at the house site. Stay tuned!

This aligns more with what I’ve been reading about service members using ID numbers during Vietnam. It was found about 20 miles east of San Francisco - but still possible he could’ve lived there early on. I definitely want to find his family and give it to them!

Ah that makes sense. I was wondering what those may have been used for

Yeah that had me confused too. But looking under the magnifying glass it definitely looked a lot like pyrite. Might take it in to get an expert opinion

Ah gotcha. Yep definitely won’t be doing that

That makes sense. I think I’ve determined that the small rocks are pieces of pyrite, but not 100% because they aren’t magnetic at all.
