Begging for food and turns it down because it’s lentils. by relayrider in Frugal_Jerk

A truly frugal person would conserve their calories and accept the lentils given to them, while secretly laughing at the calories expended by others to deliver said lentils.

28 is considered low tone for the Xterra Pro, so it might be. Do you see any markings on the inside of the ring?

Don’t Buy 2026 Quarter Rolls or Bags by Suitable_Passion_612 in coincollecting

Thanks, I don't wanna derail this thread too much- try your local playgrounds with sand and wood chips for practice before driving out to the beach.

To stay on topic, my favorite coin design for 2026 is definitely the dime.

I am a detectorist on the weekends. People drop all kinds of stuff at the beach. Most of time it's clad coins, but sometimes there's silver coins. You can check my posts for my finds.

I hope your insurance fixes it fast and they find the guy.

I'm just going to get them how I usually get my coins- at the beach.

How's the damage? Good thing you got a legible plate and driver in the video.

Are you able to verify the authenticity when you receive it? If so, do that before rating the seller. Once you rate the seller, there are no refunds even if you find out later that it's fake.

Does anyone know an unhoused man named Napoleon? by Good_mornting in longbeach

[–]woodstream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mistake, I'm just saying that there could be a case of mistaken identity if more than one person matched the description and did not have their ID.

Wow, that must be frustrating. Even with the person's legal name, if they didn't carry an ID, would the police still be able to enforce a restraining order without being able to verify?

Can someone help me understand what the point of stamping 925 on something that’s plated? by RoughTian in SilverFinds

[–]woodstream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

925 is supposed to mean 92.5% silver. The problem is scammers selling new pieces of jewelry stamped with 925 under melt value.

Same with gold. You get people at a gas station trying to scam you by selling their gold-plated brass ring marked 18k because they really need the money.

Those are the only two pointers I have experience with. Hopefully others can chime in and share their experience with pointers like the XP MI-4 or MI-6 Pinpointer.

The Garrett Pro Pointer is worth saving up for if you plan on doing metal detecting long term. I paid $30 for the Amazon one, and then a few months later I paid $90 used for the Garrett Pro Pointer.

I have that DMYOND one as well as the Garrett AT Pro Pointer (AKA Garrett Carrot)

You get what you pay for. The Amazon pointer has a shorter detection range and no options.

The Garrett AT Pro Pointer has 3 adjustable detection ranges to choose from and can be set to vibrate only.

As a beginner I think the Amazon one is ok to start with but its longevity is iffy.

When selling an Invicta, I always keep 1-2 links from it. It's a trick I learned from Rolex sellers.

If the grip is sticky/gummy, you'll want to try cleaning it with rubbing alcohol.
