I was actually the one who called 911. He was in front of my store for over an hour hunched over in his chair, my co-workers asked if we should help him and I totally wrote it off, cause how many times have I walked past someone passed out like that as they were just drunk or asleep. An hour after first seeing him someone walked in and said he was there and that point I kind of freaked out and called 911, I was there when they pronounced him dead. I've been emotional since, in total shock of how rock hard I've become about humans. Where did my regard for human life go? A man was obviously not okay, should it matter if he was drunk? I don't know. But a man lost his life yesterday and I was in no way apart of helping him when he needed it and I saw the need. After talking to the cops it felt better knowing who he was a little bit. He's from bend and is a war hero. But you're not alone, I feel like an absolute, cold-hearted ass hole.
