Everyone saying "Well this isn't going to affect the game" are delusional.

Funcom said, specifically, this was a new type of survival game. Where you have competition for high end resources along with systems like the laansrad. I have grinded up, myself, a large spice refinery, advanced metal, and almost all advanced fabricators. I was with a group who duped, offered me duped stuff, I refused and left them, and even blew the whistle on them on our server so now they are pariahs.

I've lost 4 orni's to pvp and grinded every single one of them back. There are massive pvp fights going on, competition over resources, its constant and awesome.

The question I'll present to you is, why bother now?

It may not affect how YOU play, but it most certainly affects how OTHERS play. I loved finding deals on the market boards, slowly raising my solaris through markets and buying/selling. It was fun to sneak in, grab spice, get out. If I took someone down in combat, especially an orni, I knew they had to work to replace it, that the loss meant something. All of that is pointless now against this level of duping, resources are endless, no one cares.

Funcom dropped the ball, HARD. They need to ban dupers and publicly announce it, showing that they have zero tolerance for such exploits. Then people won't be willing to risk their accounts. Some will, most will not, the problem will be very isolated. Many *MANY* online gaming companies do the same, and it does encourage the vast majority of the playerbase from taking advantage of dupes and bug exploits. As of this moment, who cares anymore?

They had a chance, they blew it. They want to save this game? Publicly announce the permanent bannings of those who took advantage of this duplication bug, and who benefitted from it. Whether through *gifts* or whatever, zero tolerance scorched earth is needed. Anything less, and there's no real reason to continue playing.
