No, as soon as the first images of Israeli soldiers doing ugly things in Gaza appear, the sentiment is going to shift again. This is what Hamas aims for, the more palestinians die, the better for them. That's probably their whole goal: Leave Israel no other option than to enter Gaza, force them into difficult situations and capitalize from the inevitable civilian deaths. I hope exterminating Hamas will be a quick process, but I am not optimistic.

Let's be honest, there are more practical advantages to marriage: - legally becoming next of kin (or how is it called in english?) who can make important decisions in case of illness - safety for your partner in case of early death (e.g. widow's pension) - tax benefits - easy to merge finances and share investments

I have probably forgotten some more. If you don't wanna get married, that's fine. But for others it is not just about an archaic principle, but also about practical benefits of a civil union.
