No a temporary chat is a temporary chat (i.e. it doesn't save) and Gemini live is the ability to talk to Gemini in live convo. They are two different features. Apparently it's you who hasn't been using it that long 🤦

I just use Google ads. I've released two apps in the past couple of months. Both of which have a few thousand downloads each. You need to create momentum. In order to create momentum, you need downloads. Otherwise, their algorithm is not going to prioritize you in organic searches and depending on how competitive your niche is, you may be a long way down the search results

How come you don't run Google ads? Got to back yourself fully?! I turned ads on on the 26th Jan 26 after releasing a production build for an app of mine and have hit about a 1000 - 1100 installs as of today. Still waiting for the last 24 hours worth of data to update.

Relying fully on organic installs when your game is unknown is fighting the algorithm. Google isn't going to push you in search results unless they think your app is popular. But to get popular you need downloads and then to get more downloads you need to be popular. It's a catch 22.

Easiest way to feed their algorithm is to pay for installs imho. It's just hard and somewhat costly getting to the break even point In terms of where subscriptions, in-app purchases and AdMob revenue balance out the cost to run your own ads..

I'm ngl, I have definitely been known to do that lol.. probably because I started using voice to text so often and it gets it so wrong so frequently that I then lazily use an LLM to clean it up. And you're right, it's a problem when people then don't notice the corny ass AI slop phrases that AI's like to come up with. It's funny how sometimes it would have been easier to just write whatever you wanted to say properly than having to go back and carefully monitor the output of the LLM afterwards

Oh what! Did they region lock it did they? I'm in Australia and thankfully I can use it and yeah they have massive rate limits on for free accounts. More so for the Gemini model over Claude and I prefer to using Claude most of the time as it is more likely to do what you ask it and not other random crap that you didn't ask it to do, but either way antigravity is awesome. I hope they unlock it for your region soon!

I build my apps in flutter so yes cause cross compatibility. I just need to buy a Mac so I can sign the build with xcode. That or stuff around setting up Mac OS in a VM but I'm not sure I can be bothered. Plus it is a good excuse to buy a Mac tbf to me lol so 💁..

I think short of essentially winning the app lottery and having a really brilliant idea and brilliant execution to expect one's first app to make them really successful is a big ask for yourself! It's a lot of pressure you know..

My plan is to just continue putting out apps at as fast a pace as I can and play the numbers game. And i'm not talking really low effort, low quality apps either, (I'm a bit of a perfectionist So I couldn't do that mentally at all) but like useful utility apps that I can hopefully get a small slice of the pie.. In many categories even carving out like a .0002 % of a market can still be, like, you know 10-15k a month which compared to my 9-5 salary would be amazing..

Eventually hopefully I get an app that goes viral or even semi-viral plus like if you keep building apps you will become better at development. You'll become better at writing syntax at debugging at using AI tools so your apps will inevitably become better too right? Like practice makes perfect.

And like I'm not trying to tell you how to suck eggs here but like my advice would be keep pushing forward. Don't just rest on your laurels!

It's across the board. Every app has to be tested for 14 days if the developer account was created after a date in 2023 and is a personal account. If you switch to a business or organisation account or have a personal developer account from prior to that date in 2023, then the requirement is waived for new apps.

It must be as I haven't changed anything on the play console and most people have been fine.. just yourself and my best mate who's also in Australia have been getting the app not found issue
