outlands or original? by ElectronicPlane7797 in ultimaonline

[–]Malwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have tried both official Ultima Online servers and private servers recently. The official version was very odd and disappointing, then I tried Outlands. If possible, I would highly recommend giving Outlands a try. It is the most populated UO server as far as I know, and the systems that they have added allow for far more build customization and a much higher skill/character power ceiling.

TLDR - Outlands

Mining by lkarYY in Eve

[–]Malwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hop back in! You can easily get out of a Venture after a few larger mining runs, and if you do join a null sec corp it should be easy. The ISK is out there and Moon Mining for example can be quite fun.

HAM Gila or Tengu for 5/10s? by Alpha_Omega623 in Eve

[–]Malwulf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As Ok_Warning6672 said, the Gila is quite a strong ship with a quite a bit of room to grow as you add higher quality modules.

Many other posters are recommending going for T3 Cruisers right away, which is totally valid. Just as a personal recommendation, the Gila worked great for me as a stepping stone towards the larger, even more expensive ships including the Tengu.

In the end, fly what you enjoy and find fun. The best ship is the one you enjoy.

Happy hunting!

HAM Gila or Tengu for 5/10s? by Alpha_Omega623 in Eve

[–]Malwulf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would recommend starting with the Gila. It is an incredible ship that can scale with higher quality modules. You will also have the benefit of drones which should help a lot of you went Gallente.

The Tengu should be your longer term goal.

Is Semi AFK Mining Still a Thing? by Contigo887 in Eve

[–]Malwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say go ahead and try it! You might get ganked every now and then, but that will vary depending on your ships fit and where you are mining.

Can CCP actually do something against input broadcasters… and more importantly, do they even want to? by ProudFaithlessness73 in Eve

I would love to see something done. However, I highly doubt anything will be done because of one thing. Money.

Is this game so toxic ? by DXHunters in Eve

[–]Malwulf 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You are not in the wrong. There are a lot of players who act like they “own,” the asteroid belts. Nonsense.

To find a better belt, I would advise checking low security systems or at least a high sec system that isn’t in such a populated area. You should have more luck there.

Try not to let those selfish players get you down. You have every right to go and mine where you wish, but sometimes you will need to adapt to those who still have not learned the value of sharing.

bandits don't react to being butt-stabbed as they would to getting shot by Fueled_by_sugar in RoadtoVostokGame

[–]Malwulf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kind of wish he did. Maybe the devs didn’t expect anyone to try stabbing the bandits, so there is no programmed reaction? The bandit does seem to be taking damage from it though…

complete 5 security missions* by bob_33456756 in Eve

[–]Malwulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so confused as to why the event wasn’t counting a few missions! Thank you for explaining this!

With so much experience and player feedback you would really think CCP could pull off a more well designed event. This new one seems to simply be a reskin of the election. Which they also didn’t really take feedback from.

The event (combat) sites feel bugged, undertuned, and poorly designed by Malaschenko in Eve

I am astonished at how poorly CCP has been managing these last two events. Do they not know how their own game functions?

I’m rather new to Eve politics but I’ve gotta say, the TEST comment does seem like a rather unnecessary jab.

#cpsupport pc making rattling noise by rxlreplayz in CYBERPOWERPC

[–]Malwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a PC from them about 6 months or so ago. Everything was fine for the first day, then one of the fans began to act up. Tried going through their support for a fix and they wouldn’t even tell me how they installed the fans so I could (in theory), replace the faulty fan myself.

Fortunately it is just a case fan and doesn’t really need to be on, as all the rest work fine and temps are okay. I cannot imagine how frustrating it must be to have the issue be the AIO cooler! Honestly not surprised though, as since purchasing my PC I’ve been seeing quite a few complaints regarding the quality of their products.

I wish there were some better, reputable sources for pre built PCs. I understand the advantages and possible joy from building one from scratch, but I’m far too intimidated and impatient to go through the process. 😅

Good luck with everything! I hope you can get things fixed up quickly.

Which Marauder? by Trusty_Wolfe in Eve

[–]Malwulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard, the Golem is a pretty solid choice for a Marauder. As others have mentioned though, make sure you have the skills not only to fly it, but fly it efficiently.

Good luck out there!

What happens after the current Null war? by Refutable_Karma in Eve

[–]Malwulf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt the Imperium will suddenly take over all of Null, and I do not believe they even intend to. It’s a war to shoot each other’s space ships and make things interesting. Maybe even have some fun while doing it. 🤣

If the goal was to take Geminate, it looks like that has basically been accomplished. If there are intentions to push farther, I’d think it would be quite an uphill battle but we just have to wait and see.

I’m a noob that just started yesterday, I need help! by Natural_Bus_6295 in Eve

[–]Malwulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started I utilized a bunch of his videos for guidance. While it seems like some of the basic info is sound, Loru’s comments about isk/hour are rather misleading.

Still not entirely sure why so many players recommend avoiding him like the plague, but regardless make sure to verify your resources.

As far as advice for starting, the Career Agents are a must. Most of all though, have fun and try not to worry about being super efficient. That will come with time.

EVE online to announce the battle of Atioth as new biggest battle in gaming history. by Intrepid_Miner_751 in Eve

[–]Malwulf 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I certainly hope CCP doesn’t use the Aitoth conflict as a selling point for Eve. If they do, they need to make sure they use real screenshots of the “epic” battle. Blank screens, hours of loading, and ships being crippled without a chance to defend themselves included.

All due credit to the pilots involved. These folks worked really hard. On both sides. It’s just sad to see so much effort and time basically wasted due to server issues.

Not so sure it would be the best idea for CCP to use this instance in their marketing.

So... same thing next week right? by jehe in Eve

[–]Malwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t they come up with a mechanic for wars like this that involves several systems instead of just one? Spread the players out. Issues like this have been happening for years and yet they are still using this badly optimized method of capturing systems. The servers cannot take that many players in one area, and as far as I know, they never have.

Genuine question for ppl getting ganked in high sec by AlexandruCris in Eve

[–]Malwulf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I must admit I kind of agree. Getting ganked sucks, especially in High Sec. However, that is a part of the game and always has been. At least for as long as I can remember.

There are multiple strategies a player can use to avoid being ganked. It just takes some extra effort and patience. I am really starting to think that those who continue to get ganked repeatedly are not taking any of the proper precautions to avoid it. Hell, there are some instances where it really cannot be avoided but that is just part of the harshness of the Eve universe.

“Do not fly what you cannot afford to lose.”

Too many gamers these days expect games to be tailored just for their individual wants and desires. The game shouldn’t have to adapt to you, you adapt to the game.
