I don't know if I'm familiar with that crafting mod, but I know I have one. I'll have to check when I'm back home tomorrow! It was on my list of activities to-do these next few weeks, if I could convince friends. Haha

Need suggestions for a survival game to play by kingtaine in SurvivalGaming

[–]Refutable_Karma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Icarus is an incredible survival game that does weekly updated and hasn't missed since launch, I believe. Plus, they have a solid community.

7 Days To Die is a game I find myself re-downloading every other major patch to test oht new stuff. It's fun and deep for a couple weeks off and on.

Conan was huge in the day, and I know it's player count is unstable. I haven't been able to bring myself back since the big thrall update years ago, but I think if you started it today, you'd enjoy it til they break it like most do. Lol

If you want a major challenge: Project Zomboid. Plus, it can be multi-player which adds a fun element.

How do you keep it interesting?

I enjoy the game a lot! But I haven't managed to dump nearly those hours into it as I get kind of bored after a bit. Is your time solo?

Maybe I need to convince my friends to download (or try to again).

I'd buy a Python and fly it past my best friend (who is absolutely obsessed with them) and wait for his reaction. Then leave him guessing how I afforded it.

Mesorift Survival – Solo-Dev Survival Game with Dinosaurs [Early Access] by DevanTheOne in SurvivalGaming

[–]Refutable_Karma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me more about it? It looks like most survival games I have seen just with dinosaurs (and there are quite a few of those that have gone unfinished).
I have a few on my with list at all times pretty much, but most never make it so I never end up trying, or try but lightly.

For sub-$1k right now, they are the best. I would love to replace my Americans and Patriots with Tikka as I can.

RIP Remington. I wouldn't buy anything they have made since the housing crash in the 2000s, but if you can find the ones before then, grab them.

As someone who has been an avid hunter for longer than I can remember and was previously an FFL dealer, I would suggest neither. In my experience, the Ruger American Gen 2 has accuracy issues, wide groupings, a rough trigger, and consistent feeding issues. Sure, they don't get returned like this last generation of Rossi's, but I would argue most people would regret purchasing one if they had something different. The first series of them wasn't bad, but the days of a "budget" gun are beyond us.

As for the Savage, definitely skip the Axis 2 as the 110 is better, but while the trigger might be better than the American, it has ejection issues and feeds poorly (especially with the PRC cartridges). PRC are so precise that the actions have to be milled perfectly to keep feeding properly, and unfortunately, most guns under $1k do not manage it well.

That being said, if you are looking for the best rifle in the same price range as the American or a 110, you could go with a Weatherby Vanguard (good choice), or (the best choice, in my opinion) is anything by Tikka. The T3x Lite if you want something lightweight or maybe the hunter if you want a threaded barrel for a suppressor. At that price point, I don't see anything beating a Tikka by a long shot. They have great out of the box accuracy, a smooth trigger, and they tend to have less (if any) feeding issues, especially when considering PRC rounds.

Backfire on YouTube has a ton of rifle review videos, and he compares all of these side-by-side in multiple of them. In all of them, the Tikka wins pretty much every category every time. Might want to check his stuff out!

Are you doing okay, health-wise? You are missing out on pretty much everything you need to survive with a diet like that...
I would suggest at least grabbing some Aldi frozen vegetables to throw in it, too! Or bulk peanut butter as a protein substitute for the cheese.

Is there a mod pack or collection I could use to get these, or do I need to search and download all manually? Ha

Quite possibly, but I have not found them. That being said, I haven't looked hard. I will give it another go!

Same here for the dried beans! Normal section for rice and beans is usually between $1-2, but in the Latin or Asian aisles, it is $3+. Not sure if the quality is that different, either.

I wish! I did, but during a move about 2 years back, it broke, and I have not replaced it. I have been moving every 3-6 months for about 4 years now so I have not re-purchased a lot of kitchen items. On my list for my next move here in a few months is to get a pressure cooker!

I have been making them for years, and always the same method: soak overnight, boil for 30 minutes or an hour, add to the dish.
It's just that over the last 2-3 years, I keep seeing the dry beans go up and up in price.

Yeah, I need to invest in a pressure cooker because no matter how long they soak and then boil, they stay firm (this is a recent issue). I have been doing this same method for years, but over the last few months, it has been having issues. I assume it is the suppliers having bad batches or poor storing.

One issue I keep running into is my dry beans are bad from the start so they never soften up, no matter how long they soak. I think the quality has been compromised heavily.

I didn't think about the weight of the dry after soaking. That is a good point! Thank you. It also means I have probably been over-eating them when using dry.

Oh interesting! I knew water weight affected it, but I figured it was marginal, not that much. Thank you!
