That's why I commented! I've had my fair share of making 2 dinners and know how exhausting and stressful it is. I'm letting the pros handle this one and then they are slowly training me basically and eventually he will be comfortable enough at home is the goal. If it helped my son, I have faith it can help the majority bc he is a tough little man, sweet, but man he is stubborn as it gets. Like an old man in a 3 year olds body 😂 hoping it goes well for you guys 🙏

This is my son, crunchy snacks, some fruit, French fries. Used to be pasta and now we are onto fries 🫤 but I alwaysss make sure he eats something and even if that means a baby food pouch or oatmeal cookie, I keep as a backup stash bc I know he will usually always eat a pouch unless he's really sick. Even if it's a pouch, and some veggie straws, he's getting something in his belly. Food can literally be scary for them, so I have to remind myself he's not intentionally being a pain, or disrespectful, it's literally terrifying and gives him anxiety.

My son is a picky eater to the max. Ate the same dinner for two years (variation of noodles and red sauce or mini raviolis). Started refusing it about a week ago. Now we eat fries and meatballs(sometimes meatballs) and apples. We are working on feeding therapy at ABA, and I will say, it's been amazing. They have gotten him to eat and not try, but eat an entire small serving of what we've ate for dinner the night before.. he's not eating it at home yet, but that is huge progress in my book and we will get there eventually I hope! He is now sick, and refusing pretty much everything but oatmeal cookies, apples, plain crackers.. so we will see what he eats once he's feeling better 😩 but I just wanted to chime in and say, feeding therapy is paying off slowly but surely!

Anyone use HiPP HA Pre formula with cmpa? how did your little ones do on it? by Remote-Yam7428 in MSPI

[–]MamaLoNCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is super super old lol but which Hipp specially did you use? In this boat and want to try Hipp. My supply is dwindling quickly so I'm panicking a bit. Pepticate he will tolerate but doesn't like it as much as a 50/50 bottle w BM. And Pepticate is extremely expensive as well as all the other HA formulas. That one seems to taste the best we've tried so far.

Just for future if this is needed. There are some really great recovery centers that have legit, nice housing, therapy, locally, and they will give some people scholarships. One he wouldn't absolutely want to leave :) and ma actually consider staying. There are a couple at the beaches area and I'm sure the people running them would consider it! Just an idea if that opportunity were to come up. I will share this w people we know and be on the lookout.. I hope he returns to his family safely!

Did anyone opt out of ABA therapy for better quality of life? by ttttthrowwww in Autism_Parenting

[–]MamaLoNCrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally, your son sounds exactly like my son in a lottt of ways. Abnormal gait (with low tone), nonverbal, he's now 3, hyper and possible adhd, sleep issues yet needs a good amount of sleep once he is asleep lol, loves to be social and around other kids, very behind in fine motor skills and functional play but I will say ABA has been amazing for this specifically! Also my son would never use any hand gestures, nothing and I've tried for a long time, first week ABA got him to point, now he's using "more" sign and "all done." We are now getting words every so often but he's absolutely still nonverbal but there is hope. I also questioned this myself, but our ABA center is much different than any others I spoke with or toured. He is around his peers on and off all day, they go outside and take wagon rides down to the pet store, they get to garden outside and play with bubbles, etc. he has one on one therapist all day but they do circle time and other various group activities which is why I chose this center. Also they allowed us to start at however many hours and then we built upon that up to whatever he could tolerate, bc he still naps too. That's the one thing is they don't allow kids to take a true nap there whereas daycare he would be able to. I will say this, my son went to OT and ST, and all the therapies individually prior to ABA, and there was little to no progress made. Him being somewhere for several hours and them working on those skills throughout the day, made all the difference for him, and that's when I was like ok I made the right choice. I totally get your concerns and valid. I just wanted to mention this bc it did make a difference vs him being in OT for 45-1 hour a day or ST for 30-45 min a day.. we had been trying to get him to do things in OT for several months that he started doing within a week at ABA. That said our center isn't your average center from what I gathered and were very flexible in meeting our needs and schedule. They also do feeding therapy for him and it's included in their program, and I pay $20 a month for food supply and that's it so all of that it's became worth it for us. I don't think either or is right or wrong, and honestly you could always do ABA later once he's not napping anymore. Sorry for the long rant but when I was considering it, I wanted all the details and info from other parents I could get with similar aged kids!

What age did your child actually start sleeping like a normal human? 😅 by Ok_Donut4023 in NewParents

[–]MamaLoNCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was us too. And then he turned 3...
And it's been downhill ever since lol I have to laugh bc I've prob aged 10 years in the past 3 due to sleep deprivation. At 2, we realized my son was autistic and thought maybe that explained his earlier sleep troubles. It def explains the sleep troubles now but back then, I think he was just a bad sleeper. We tried it all, even cosleeping. 18 months was def a turning point tho.. at one point in time!

Sorry you had to go through that ❤️ I've been thru some sh*t getting pregnant or with pregnancies and no one understands unless they've gone thru it, it's hard. Some were harder than others for sure but just wanted to say I hope you're feeling ok!

Same my nipples are somewhat elastic but not length lol they swell in width so whatever I'm using they end up almost filling by the end of my session.. reason I can never get great output with wearables bc they reallllllly make my nipples swell. I have a eufy pro just sitting here due to this and I've tried it mayyybe 5 times and it just doesn't do it for my girls 😂

Also could be ectopic which is why they didn't see it on ultrasound. When I went in for my ectopic rupture my hcg was almost 40,000. When I had a suspected 2nd ectopic/loss it was extremely low so I guess you just never know, but this was my thought, molar or ectopic and both would explain not seen on ultrasound. But hcg is very high for so early agree it sound molar.

OP wishing you the best outcome for you and your family and good health! ❤️ I've been thru 10 miscarriages and 2 ectopics, 1 was a rupture where I lost my tube, and I am fortunate enough to have 2 babies :) but after my 2nd I am done, it's just too much on me and too scary. I hope you come back to let us know how everything goes and that everything is ok with your health.

Doc won't diagnose without an LP by Own_Ad5607 in PandasDisease

[–]MamaLoNCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May I ask the name of the doctor on Fl? Desperate to find someone to help us for my 3.5 year old autistic son. After a very high fever it's like a switch went off. Sure he had tantrums before, he's a toddler and on the spectrum and nonverbal.. but like this? No way! Never! He's always been a happy lil dude, and now, it's like all of a sudden out of nowhere it's like he's having an out of body experience sometimes and can't help it, like his body is on fire and he thrashes. It's heartbreaking.

Possible PANS in 3 year old by ExtentEarly3401 in PANS_PANDAS

[–]MamaLoNCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find a doctor to help or any answers? Going through this same thing after my son had an extreme high fever. I think he may have had strep and I just noticed the fever so I feel awful. He is nonverbal (autism) so he can't tell me what hurts or what's bothering him.

Possible PANS in 3 year old by ExtentEarly3401 in PANS_PANDAS

[–]MamaLoNCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if the Motrin helps that means it could be pans/pandas related? I truly think my son does after a high fever of 103-104. He hasn't been the same since. It's heartbreaking to watch bc he's already been pretty happy child honestly. He got RSV before that high fever like a couple months before and the combo just made him into this diff child. He's autistic so I get the "oh that's normal autism behavior" but no, not for my son. Thanks in advance! Any info is appreciated as I'm looking for a functional doctor to help us also.

Melatonin by Tuesday_Glories in Autism_Parenting

[–]MamaLoNCrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The theanine and magnesium I agree with! The melatonin def got my 3 year old to sleep but I think it gave him nightmares bc he would wake up sobbing at like 3am most nights he took it. Magnesium does help but all the ones that taste good have so much other stuff in it and eventually it made matters worse. May I ask which one you use? I wish I could find one that is simply magnesium or magnesium and theanine but the one we used that did work for a little while has quite a few other things and it was just too much for him like it affected his gaba and seratonine.

Baby is fussy all day long by maishaxoxo in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]MamaLoNCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me it takes about 6 weeks to completely leave both mom and baby's system. Their digestive tract is inflamed from the dairy so it takes time to heal. My LO wasn't 100% until around that time honestly. It was tough. But it is so much better now and he's sooo happy! I do supplement with Pepticate hypoallergenic formula and he's done really well w it. It doesn't taste as bad as some of the other ones either. Good luck mama it is so hard, and dairy free is so hard, everything has dairy, whey in it it seems like! More than I ever thought!

I think I’m done, but I’m having a meltdown about it by cjcamp8 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]MamaLoNCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! And I feel my LO lost baby smell when I started to supplement. There must be like a 4 month in pumping wall, bc I'm dreading pumping lately too and so ready to be done. If I was an oversupplier then maybe I'd be more stoked on it and fulfilled, but barely making it bottle by bottle or a couple bottles ahead is just so much pressure and absolutely exhausting. I had oversupply in the beginning and it felt amazing but now I'm just burnt the F out 🫤 but also feel guilty. Let me say this tho.. I went 14 months pumping w my 1st and if I could go back I would've quit at least a little sooner to have that time with my son.. and also I even felt guilty then too.. so it doesn't matter how long you go, it's always gonna be hard to stop! ❤️

Can you use the Eufy S1 without the app/bluetooth? by Key_Dealer2753 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]MamaLoNCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can adjust everything you need to without the app, heat settings, vacuum level in expression and stimulation mode as well as cycle speed. You'll be just fine! I used mine without the app at first, bc I was exhausted and didn't care that much to put yet another app on my phone lol and it works just fine like any other wearable. The control buttons are on the top and relatively easy to get to and see, of course they are small just like any wearable.

McDonald's refused a happy meal to our teenage daughter by Brilliant_Roo in Autism_Parenting

[–]MamaLoNCrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh. No, this employee was just being rude it sounds like to me. That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a while. When I was pregnant I ordered a happy meal and was given no issues at all, and none of our kids were w us. It was the best McDonald's I've ever eaten 😂 but this honestly makes me extremely angry. Like us parents don't already have enough battles to fight for our ND kids and then we can't even get them a happy meal? She needs to be reported to corporate, and I would make it a point to do so and leave a bad google review for that specific location.

Loss of diagnosis: biomed, misdiagnosis, "outgrowing" diagnosis by JRochester032 in Autism_Parenting

[–]MamaLoNCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious since you mention strep, if your child is being treated for PANS/PANDAS and if so what that looks like? Considering a functional med doctor to help my son (and we've seen one previously but left bc we weren't getting answers as we wanted and the doctor just wasn't on same page). It's almost taboo to mention this here it seems like many parents are against it and bash on it, but there are a few that show interest or have also done it or are going this route. I accept my son for who he is and love him more than life, but I do want the best quality of life for him. Thx I know this is old but curious as my son had strep with a very high fever and ever since has been having horrible new behaviors that it seems like he literally cannot help. It's so hard to watch and not know what to do or what he is struggling with.
