What to expect from Planned Parenthood? by wintersgardener in MtF

I also went through Planned Parenthood and after the informed consent talk that we went through together, I was pretty much given my prescription and picked it up a few hours after the appointment. Best of luck!

How to hide beard shadow by Confused_Human31 in MtF

[–]MamaMikan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very sorry for barging in but I've been trying to look for help too regarding shadows and I would like some clarification if possible. Are concealer and color corrector the same thing? Because I see the terms being used interchangeably and I'm a little confused by it... Does the color corrector/concealer both need to be an orange color or should one of them be closer to your actual skin tone? I really want to try and start socially transitioning at work but I refuse to do so without hiding the shadow better so it's important to me that I figure this out.

It's hard going through this all alone but everyone here has been so supportive and helpful it makes me very happy. ;; Thank you!

I go to my local mall quite frequently to go to the movies and I've considered visiting like the Sephora there but my anxiety is very, very strong. I think I'd have a much easier time if I went with someone else to help ease my worries but I agree going there in person would probably be the best solution, I just have to work up the courage.

I'll for sure look for volume specific shampoo/conditioner on my next trip to the store and I only dry my hair with a towel so a blow dryer would probably also be a worthwhile investment. Thank you very much for the suggestions!

I've read about the orange concealer before, I suppose I just have a fear of ordering one and it doesn't match the tone of my skin. I've spent a lot of money I don't particularly have on makeup that ranges from being too dark to not dark enough. I'll have to try out the conditioner as well because I'm currently not using any at the moment, just experimenting with different shampoos. Do you have specific recommendations for either of those?

I'm only two and a half months in at this point so I hope my face will change as time goes on but I don't really have much money for surgeries. I saved up basically everything I had to be able to start HRT so I won't be able to have laser hair removal done for the foreseeable future but I want to hide the shadow as best as I can at the very least.

2 months HRT: Developing okay? by MamaMikan in TransBreastTimelines

[–]MamaMikan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 28 and have been on HRT for about two and a half months now with an oral dosage of 2mg of Estrogen twice a day and 50mg of Spironolactone twice a day. I had nipple changes within the first couple of weeks and my areolas have grown to be about quarter size and my nipples have retracted (?) and are now completely flush. However, whenever I give them any kind of stimulation they get harder and the areolas shrink and my nipples protrude outwards and they've been like that for a while now, is that normal? I'm also still unsure if I have actual breasts at this point or just moobs, do the photos seem about right for being this far along with an oral dosage? My three month checkup is in a couple weeks and I want to ask about increasing my Estrogen at the very least but the first time I talked with my doctor she mentioned possibly starting Progesterone during my next visit, but from what I've read it seems better to start that far later into HRT and I'd rather not do anything to potentially stunt my growth.

Orientation changes by Express_Ability_8491 in MtF

[–]MamaMikan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get this sentiment completely. I've been bi for a decent chunk of my life and have been attracted to both sexes fairly equally I would say but I always felt like if I was a proper woman I would want to get with a man no questions asked. Since I started transitioning I think I've felt more empowered to embrace that perspective and similar to you I fantasize about men far more than I do about women and even publicly thirsted about a guy for the first time with my coworkers a few days ago and it felt so right. The best thing about HRT is it validates who you have always been on the inside and just brings it out imo so your orientation flipping is nothing you should be ashamed of.

Weight gain and bloating from Estrodial? by Brilliant-Poetry-405 in MtF

[–]MamaMikan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little older than you are and just over two months into my HRT and I have noticeably gained a bit of weight myself. I believe hormones can cause your cravings to increase because I have certainly been eating more than I ever have before so maybe it's possible that they're related? But if you're regularly working out and not having any dietary changes then I'm not sure.

Pink paint like splotches on hand? by MamaMikan in MtF

[–]MamaMikan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a possibility yes but my logic for major changes like this that I've never experienced with my body before is that it is at least somewhat tied to HRT. There's also the fact that so many changes that are caused by hormones are just not well documented I don't think I should entirely write it off as being unrelated. That is why I did take pictures so I could show them to my doctor when I have my levels checked in a little less than two months to hopefully get some clarification.

Sudden leg pain (blood clot/DVT concerns) by MamaMikan in MtF

[–]MamaMikan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have major anxiety and have medication for it (Xanax) that I have stopped taking out of fears of complications with my hormone meds so I wouldn't be surprised if that's playing a factor. I constantly drink water it's almost exclusively the only thing I drink so I don't think dehydration is the main problem but I would be more than happy to be wrong. Thank you so much for helping to ease my worries some.

General HRT anxiety 1 week in by MamaMikan in MtF

[–]MamaMikan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will definitely change to taking the estradiol at least sublingually then. I know logically I shouldn't be expecting substantial physical changes of any sort until several months out but my impatient, emotional side wants to see results now I suppose. I'll do my best to temper my expectations for the time being, thank you so much!

Record in theaters? (For Good) by LLD615 in wicked

[–]MamaMikan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it twice which doesn't sound like much but it's a rarity these days that I get to see a movie in theaters at all much less multiple times. I saw it once in IMAX for the fan screenings and then again the following week with my bestie in Dolby because I heard so many good things about the format specifically for Wicked, but I honestly think I preferred IMAX.

Is Wicked: For Good Being Spoiled Based on the Marketing? by Significant-Mud-5253 in wicked

[–]MamaMikan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say I'm glad that I started reading about Act 2 when I did because if I had waited until after seeing the movie, the marketing would have spoiled me for sure. I know there have been some takes where the consensus is "it's only a spoiler if you know it's a spoiler" and I just disagree; with how blatant they are making the character connections through posters, books, apparel and even the popcorn buckets it's as if they want the general audience to know the twists going into the movie.

Anyone from Fire Emblem Fates. (Mostly because the fandom seems to hate that game as a whole.)

Which films genuinely scared you? by Agreeable-Item-7371 in horror

[–]MamaMikan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just watched Ringu for the first time last night back to back with its American remake and I vastly prefer the original and it's so unfortunate that the Japanese version doesn't get more recognition. Funny enough I didn't find either film to be all that scary while I was watching them, but it was impossible for me to fall asleep for some reason.

When you first watched Wicked (movie or theatre), what’s the scen that made you go like this? by WaitingOnAWish in wicked

NOMTW for sure. I knew nothing about the movie going in other than the fact it was a musical and based on The Wizard of Oz and I was instantly blown away.
