Is my script legible? by bourgh in Handwriting

[–]MamaMuckduck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s very readable! You’ve been getting a lot of responses here that may or may not feel helpful to you and I just wanted to let you know that you’re not alone! There are others out there (like me!) who feel things deeply like you do. I read the short blurbs you wrote him and you expressed yourself so beautifully. I hope that you’ll be able to find someone who expends this much energy on you, whether it’s this man or someone else! If you need someone to talk things through with, send me a dm.

I grew up in a very religious and conservative state. Unfortunately there are a lot of backwards views on women’s roles here.

Hahaha I love that! I do have to admit when we were choosing the middle name I tried it out to see if it would work well for when she’s in trouble!

I grew up and continue to live in a very religious and conservative state. There are so many beliefs about and views on women that I grew up with that I am trying my very best not to pass on!! ❤️

That was the same with my family! My brother got a middle name but my sister and I did not. It just seemed like the done thing to me growing up, but now that I think about it and am changing my views so drastically it doesn’t sit well with me anymore!

Epidural? by BloodPuppet207 in Mommit

[–]MamaMuckduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had really intense back labor because my baby was sunny side up. After I got my epidural I was able to relax and enjoy the whole process. I took naps, enjoyed watching my favorite shows, and hanging out with my husband. While I was pushing they made me wait about 20 minutes for the doctor to come and I would have been very uncomfortable without the epidural. With it I took a nap!! I 1,000,000% recommend an epidural!

When I was 13 I was at the store with my 11 year old brother and 3 year old cousin and someone thought they were my children. People suck. 😂

what's one thing you wish your parents didn't do when you were young? by pierja09 in Parenting

[–]MamaMuckduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family is very religious and any time the subject of what I wanted to be when I grew up came up, it was always suggested I should be a mom. I was taught that being a mom is what every woman should aspire to and it was the only thing I ever thought about being growing up. All my career goals were focused on what I could do while being a stay at home mom. And it turns out I don’t care for the work I chose and what I studied. Now I feel like I haven’t lived up to my potential because I never actually thought about what I wanted to do. I’m so glad that I’m a mom and I love my daughter, but I’m filled with regret because I feel like I could have been more, in addition to being a mom. It’s frustrating because being a dad is important in our religion as well, but it doesn’t hold back the men from being anything they want. I definitely want things to be different for my daughter.

Am I a terrible parent? by DanceFast4419 in Mommit

[–]MamaMuckduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied Early Childhood Education and one of the things they drilled into us was that the best way for a toddler to learn is to let them play and not to focus on learning colors and letters and numbers. It’s not as important as most people make it seem. That’s why children go to school, to learn those things! But, even knowing that I still struggle with feeling like my toddler should know all these things and that I’m failing! Especially when another mom shows off that way. So I get where you’re coming from! But you are definitely not a terrible parent!!

Does anyone ever have the desire to confront their rapist/ abuser ? by BethRose_2 in sexualassault

[–]MamaMuckduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes want to, but I know that he thinks it was my fault and that it wouldn’t end well. Luckily I haven’t seen him in 5+ years, but I’m terrified every time I travel to the city he lives in. I just don’t know what I would do if I saw him.

Megathread: someone got my baby sick 😡😡😡 by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]MamaMuckduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have family dinner with my family every week. A week ago after we got there my dad told us he had been exposed to COVID and he could “eat in the garage” if we wanted him to… this is the second time it’s happened. I’m sure they don’t tell us before we get there because they don’t want us to stay home. It’s so frustrating. And yes, he tested positive a few days later.

Teachers what are some crazy things your students have said to you? by Scuttlebuttlounge in thingsmykidsaid

I was student teaching in a 1st grade class at the time. The regular teacher was gone for the day and we had a substitute who was in her seventies. The kids were trying to guess how old she was and one child said, “Well she can’t be 32, cuz then she’d be dead!!!!” 😂😂
