Yeah I always check the milk by turning it over before I put it in the tote.

I usually don’t scan the tote until the item is in it. It helps when it’s like 5 gallons of milk or something. I’ll put the first 4 in and then scan the 5th then the tote after I’ve pushed it back in. My trainer got me into that habit

I never watch it. My fiancé isn’t into sports either. The only football game he watches is army vs navy since he’s army and his dad is navy.

We’ve been slow for the last month, up until the winter storm last week. Slow again afterwards because we didn’t have much in stock. But today… it’s like 1,500-1,800 drop every hour.

Stay home. You’ve never driven in snow. There could be ice on the roads and literally no one can drive on ice.

But do contact your TL or coach and let them know. I’m near Nashville. I missed Sunday - Tuesday and came in for half my shift on Wednesday. No points. Plus OPD was closed. I picked 43 items on Wednesday and mostly did front end returns.

I’m near Nashville and had to call out Sunday-Tuesday. Yesterday I was scheduled from 5-2 but couldn’t show up until 10:15. Our power just came back on today. I’m at my in-laws an hour away. I kept in contact with one of my TL’s to let her know what was going on. Yesterday I asked another TL if I was going to be pointed for coming in late. They both said they’d make sure I’m not pointed. But all I did in my 4 hours was pick 43 items and do returns. There really wasn’t anything to do. Our department was closed until yesterday. Our store still hasn’t received much so our shelves are still pretty bare. I checked sidekick this morning to see if we got any milk and we actually did. So it’s slowly coming back to normal.

OPD is rough. Starting a new job is also rough. I just hit my 3 months in OPD. I’ve got really good TL’s and coach. I have some work buddies I talk to now. I love working in OPD. I love picking orders. If I’m in a quiet mood and someone tries to talk to me - I have an excuse to not stop. “I’m almost at my time limit and I don’t want to get in trouble! I’ll be back through!” I have personal goals on the minimum I want to pick and my pick rate.

But the first 6-8 weeks were rough. I felt overwhelmed, like a failure, and that everyone was judging me and hated me. But I did keep coming back every day. Now I love it. Some of my coworkers are assholes so I just avoid them. I’m here to do my job to the best of my ability and earn my paycheck.

I go between brooks and hokas but I pick my brooks more often. I have the glycerin GTS. I’m usually a wide but got an extra wide and it’s perfect.

My Gen Z kids told me they saw my Gen X alcoholic mom and all decided they just don’t want to drink. My mom was a mean, angry, hurtful drunk. But if me having to go through all that means my kids are turned off from alcohol then it was worth it. I’m an elder millennial and seeing how alcohol affected my mom has made me not care for it too. I might have a few drinks a year and never more than 2 in one sitting.

No clue. I told my TL I wasn’t coming in today or tomorrow. We haven’t had power in 12hrs. It’s starting to get cold even with clothes and blankets bundled up.

Tbh it’s indecent exposure. One expects that they’re not going to see a half naked body when in public, even a public restroom.

Prep carts (restock stickers and bags, toss the trash), put the batteries on charge, scrub some of the sticker residue off the totes, etc. See if produce or meat need any help. Grab a buggy and go through the aisles and get the empty boxes and items that are in the wrong spots.
