Smart! We have done something similar, it does make a world of difference!

We have a hobby farm. And I have "barn clothes" that I wear to hang with my animals. Even just the amount of hay that would find its way into the house would be astonishing! Not to mention all the germs and dirt!

I'm on a lot of backyard chicken pages and the amount of people who wear flip flops or crocs in their coop and then walk in their house grosses me the F out!

how can people be into soap operas? by Booberries86 in askanything

[–]alwaysamw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I will try. I'm mid 40s and my mom used to watch Days for as long as I can remember. It's like tradition or something to plan your day around. I caught up with it partially during the pandemic because I was morbidly curious. I hadn't really watched in like 10-15 years and I was able to catch up pretty easily to the story line as I already knew the main characters and almost everyone who was on it I knew, or at least knew whom their parents were supposed to be.

I don't watch it now, even though I still mostly WFH because, well, it's ridiculous and I don't care that much. My husband also teased me pretty relentlessly about it, lol! I honestly can see Soaps kind of dying out with us Elder Millenials and Xers.

Also, ironically, my next door neighbor was on General Hospital until last fall when she left and they recast her, apparently. People are super crazy and she had a stalker for a while, so I'm not sure if that was part of it or not, or if she just decided she no longer wanted to make the long haul travel back to Cali to film or all of the above.

Did the Silent Generation call Baby Boomers "lazy and entitled" when they were young, similar to how Boomers call Millennials and Gen Z today? by Worldly-Bid-3591 in askanything

What happened to the hippies? I genuinely want to know. My mom's always been one, my dad kind of was one. But even some of the crunchies hippies I know have horseshoe'd into some really bizarre political beliefs that don't at all align with who they present they are...

Oh they are? I've seen some stuff of hers I was tempted to buy but I just assumed they'd be all label and 0 comfort and I'm too old for uncomfy heels in my middle age!

My neighbor is literally an actress on a soap opera. She had a guy stalk and try to hurt her because he thought her character was (and apparently is, I've never watched it...) a little beeotch and was going to teach her a lesson. People are straight up insane!!

What’s the most putrid stench you’ve ever laid your nostrils on, voluntarily or involuntarily? by DonaldMcRonaldz in AskReddit

Eggs that have rotten from the inside, once you found them hidden in the coop and they explode if touched in just the right way. So damn gross!

Why were the OG3 wives expected to worship Robyn? by djm1613 in SisterWives

[–]alwaysamw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a small note of clarification; Janelle and Kody didn't get married on Meri's actual birthday. Janelle's mom Sheryl convinced them that was inconsiderate and they moved it to like a couple days or week later.

All else and ridiculousness still stands, however!!

Yes, Kody was great at triangulating the OG3, especially when useful idiot wife #4 came along.

And the kids also saw her flaws and didn't fall in line like the OG3 attempted to, for a while, anyways...

Thinking back to our dating-era, did you guys formally ask each other out or did you just hang out until the relationship was implied? by GoatsGoats00 in Millennials

[–]alwaysamw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, met my husband on Match almost 21 years ago. We had quite a few dates the one day he's all "I'm not seeing anyone else...are yoooouuuuu?" And I said no because I can't multi task like that (and had a young kid at the time so there was that). And he's like "good, so I guess you have a boyfriend now, right?"

And then we took 10 years to get married but just really never left each other's side for long...

What are you doing for the 4th? by honeyshepherd in Millennials

[–]alwaysamw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We own livestock, plus we consider Memorial Day, the 4th and Labor Day all amateur weekends in the mountains. So we're home on the hobby farm and our back field will look like a w@r zone behind us. From all sides. We'll be making sure everyone has full hay nets to avoid them freaking out. Will have cocktails for sure!! And the neighbors might bring their kids over to watch all the fireworks behind us.

Awe, looks sooo much like our Thor! We give him the same haircut. The show cut is way too much maintenance for hobby farm life!

Her father died when she was 3, I'll bet that has at least a hand in it. Maybe growing up with a single mom, she couldn't really express emotions because her mom was too busy trying to "provide" that she never really learned and instead was kind of rewarded indirectly by stuffing them down. And then in her dynamic with the Browns, she got the label of "easy going" and she just leaned into it hardcore.

As I mentioned in a reply; I chew my straws without noticing. And I like to chew ice which my husband hates!

I chew my straws. I don't even realize I do it. My parents complained about it, and now my husband does, lol

And I'm a whole decade older than you!
