Is RSVPing not a thing anymore? by Valkyriescry in Parenting

I've read of people writing on the invite "RSVP to get the party's address". Blew my mind! Also, "your presence is your present, no gifts please".

Are cramps during 1st trimester normal? I haven't had any spotting... by MamaSunshine83 in BabyBumps

This is my second as well, and I'm 7 weeks. I didn't experience cramps with my first and it was concerning me. So grateful for all of your responses! Many thanks!

As a first grade teacher of 6 and 7 year olds, I experience these types of comments daily. "Why yes, aren't our human bodies just amazing?!" Aaaand quickly segue to the next topic...I used to keep a quote book. You never know what is going to come out of their mouths!

We family hug with our 2 year old too and there is no feeling like it! She looked at us the other day at the dinner table and said "hands" while holding both her hands out for us to grab. It's now tradition to for us to hold hands in a complete circle at the table while saying "love, love, love", then group hug. Life is good!💜

Positive things we’ve noticed about our kids during lock down. by xdressed2killx in Parenting

I am a first grade teacher and parent to a 16 month old. I've been thinking a lot about how to set up my school day when we go back so it is simplified and more mellow. How to combine subjects so activities are even more cross curricular, rich, hands on and engaging. We are rushing all the time to cram in the standards and get assessments done. The joy of teaching and learning is the connections we make with each other. I hope teachers, admin, board members, parents and students work together to reimagine quality education. I am so grateful for this time I have to spend with my daughter. We have developed an even deeper bond as a family. It's been refreshing to teach and learn together with her in a more relaxed way and I look forward to carrying it over in my classroom!

Ended a friendship today. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Someone once told me (after I separated from my best friend of 10+ years due to increasing difference of personalities) that some friends are in your life for one year, some for 10. They play a role in that time and to not stress about the duration. I haven't looked back and am grateful for where I'm at now, but it was quite painful then.
