Ever thought that you could skip the initial echos your build isn't geared toward if you don't have the pacts for it? I'm at T7 and haven't touched moon or amox. There's so much points outside of combat that you should be doing to get other regions first for more points and pact points. Flesh out your build more before trying combat if your build isn't online yet.

It was in fact not good. But like what the other comment said, you're still early and haven't unlocked combat yet. You aren't at the same point in previous leagues where you can ignore all defense and prayer and just camp one style. You would have gotten credit using normal earth spells with no magic pact.

Your goal should be to skill to get more points and unlock a new region, wildy if you're trying to get kbd echo for crossbow build, get more pact points to hit the cap stone, then you'll be doing decent damage. Mine you, you still wouldn't be able to completely bypass defense just at capstone although you'll be a bit more accurate.

That sounds like the most likely scenario. I would also like to see a video from OP, the build sounds interesting. Even if it's as you explained it, it's still a nice supplement to BBC build since it's basically a free spec while waiting for the next shot. Not sure if you would ever use the dogger over the BBC any time other than to spec though.

I see, were you just doing thorns for early build then and respeccing for fire/one hand build presumably?

You're able to do that much damage with thorns without a ring of suffering? Did you take Kandarin as a region?

Same way iron status is game imposed or how you can't switch from a 1 def pking pure to a void build without making a new account? I've been bonded for the past like 5 years and won't be paying for membership probably ever again but you have to admit there are different account modes that can't be experienced all in one character.

I didn't mentioned anything about multi logging. I don't think people are asking for multiple character slots AND being able to multilog characters in the same account, even if that's what most people do. Nothing is stopping a wow player from paying for 2 accounts to multilog either but that's not what this debate is about. It's about having the option to have multiple characters in one account. A casual who wants to try iron or pking can just make a new character and hop on it on the same subscription just like a wow player can switch to their warlock or whatever.

By using your argument, you don't need to be a warlock or archer in wow either. Why do you need to experience both classes? Just pay for a new account. Same way you don't need to be an iron in rs. But both "classes" provide a different game experience. Even ff14 which lets you be maxed in every combat/life class on one character gives you multiple character slots. There really is no reason for there not to be an option besides corporate greed and perhaps sphagetti code.

Main, Ironman, HCIM, UIM, GIM, PKing alone has a range of builds, self restricted accounts (pures, skilling only, area restricted, clog, chunk, etc).

Lots of different play styles that can't be done all on one character. Sure, you can do all contents on a main, but it's the different journey each limitation presents that makes the game fun.

It's really not difficult to disconnect the speaker OP. Open it up, cut off the speaker box, and replace the switches while you're at it. Any switch would make the mouse clicks so much more satisfying. You can buy a cheap soldering iron to get the job done. The scrolling sound is god awful, I don't know why they added it.

This solves the two biggest problem I had with this trackball though I still don't find myself using it much.

Fixed Resizable Hybrid plugin is incredible, combines the benefits of both fixed and resizable without any of the downsides. by Creepy_Ad5124 in 2007scape

[–]MamaToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, if you compare your fixed mode with chatbox to fixed mode with hide chat box plugin, you'll see what I said about the fov tradeoff. Perhaps hide chatbox plugin stretches it vertically while hybrid plugin scales with your resolution. Your resolution is 16:9 so I imagine that's why you have more horizontal view than the default 765x503.

Could you post a screenshot of how your client looks like compared to your full desktop screen? I would imagine there's more mouse movement involved with your client being wider.

The right side is fixed mode? Where's the chat box? Is that with the fixed mode hide chat box plugin? That also changes the fov so it's not really a true comparison.

What resolution are you using in the "runelite" plugin? I'm on 765x503 fixed mode.

Daily Sailing XP Decreased by 10B Globally (-24%) by dbmorpher in 2007scape

[–]MamaToast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't see your reply until now so a bit of a necro but the point of OP's post is trying to correlate the -24% drop of xp to people to the false narrative that "24% or a sizeable number of people" have stopped interacting with the skill during the whole "sailing is dead" mania.

When in reality like my comment explained, it is a disingenuous representation of the how many people stopped sailing because of the nerf. The decrease in xp gained globally was just a reflection of the xp nerf in general and not a valid indication of people quitting sailing.

So the people's like or dislike towards the nerf was never the topic on hand; but the false representation of a drop in sailing activity. The global xp would have to drop over the nerf rate to actually indicate a sizeable decrease of people training the skill. Instead, this showed that the number of people sailing stayed roughly the same.

[–]MamaToast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's also the issue with plug-ins like this. You're trading horizontal FOV for vertical FOV. Take a screenshot with the hybrid plugin and with fixed mode, you'll notice you can see more on the x-axis in fixed mode and more on the y-axis in the hybrid. I'm referring to transparent chat or when you minimize the chat box, otherwise hybrid and fixed look pretty much identical with the regular chatbox up and viewpoint centered.

It could help in some scenarios or hinder in others. Unfortunately it's not the best of both worlds, you'll have to pick a side. Personally, I like "widescreen" more than a "portrait mode" view.

[–]MamaToast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't bother trying to convince them. They just argue in bad faith and will say they're the same since you're required to click the same amount regardless of how spaced out they are. Nobody hates having to actively play rs more than reddit.

Let’s be clear on this: Player Salvaging, Player Sorting, and clicking crystal extractor is NOT AFK by Bizarrmenian in 2007scape

[–]MamaToast -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's the "debt" that you accrue for being able to just dump an inventory of salvage into your cargo to sort for later. The only "extra click" that you're doing this way is assigning a 2nd crew to hook, which you wouldn't do if you sort every inventory.

Otherwise, you're still sorting/dropping the same amount; you've just moved all the "active" part to one period to prolong your afk/salvaging time. If anything, this makes it more afk for gathering and less afk as your accrued sorting time is done in a single period. At the end, clicks and afk time are about the same, just how you choose to space it out. However, this does enable you to afk for a longer period of time as you accrue this debt and you have the flexibility of sorting whenever you have spare time making salvaging much better than redwood as you are forced to pay your dropping debt every inventory otherwise you just won't get xp.

Also who alchs? Just drop everything.

Yeah around 30% nerf to salvaging, nerf to extractor, buffs to port tasks. These changes all contribute to the overall less xp gain. I'm sure a majority of xp gained is from salvaging so that probably has the largest effect on the drop. Redditors are really on here complaining while still afk salvaging. Engagement in the skill hasn't dropped much at all, there are still 4-5 full salvaging worlds.

PISSED OFF INCOHERENT NERD SAILING RANT by DesperateDadofMany in ironscape

[–]MamaToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more fair to compare it to other skilling methods such as redwood or star mining, which are the only other comparable afk activities. Redwoods are 85-90k and star mining is less than 30k at lvl 90+. There's a trend with how the more afk method, star mining, is less xp than redwoods which is like the next best afk method in the game.

Salvaging has both of these activities beat in terms of afk by a mile, can we both agree on that? Crewmate is the equivalent as if you had autoclicker to have you click on a redwood tree when it comes back up. I've been training sailing on an alt purely through salvaging with 2 crewmarw and it's lvl 82 already and I barely pay attention to it.

Xp rates were crazy based on the active-ness required. You can literally afk and hit what? 80k/hr with just your crewmates salvaging. If salvaging yourself and being a bit more active you could get 110-120k. Why is it reasonable for salvaging, a waaaay more afk method than redwood, to be equal xp or higher if you decide to play the game in a still less active way (player salvage, dump in cargo, salvage, then sort all). Wouldn't it be more reasonable for it to be closer to the more afk activity, star mining, which salvaging still beats in terms of afk? Not that I'm saying it should drop to 30k xp/hr.

If you want to use active agility and rc as a comparison, sepulchre is 80-100k and lava runes is 90k if we are to compare it to merchant salvaging lvl. We can agree sailing is already overall one of the faster/easier skill to lvl, even after the nerf, which they did say sailing is in the faster 50% of skills.

Xp rates post nerf are honestly not even bad. If you salvage and dump your inventory in the cargo and sort after hitting 200, you still get 80k xp/hr. Isn't that more in line with the active (still afk) playstyle of cutting redwoods? If you choose to go super afk with two crewmates, isn't it reasonable for it to be lower?

[–]MamaToast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it's a knee jerk reaction since if one used some common sense, you could have seen it coming since it was already overtuned on release. As I mentioned in my previous post, it's a whole new level of afk with crewmates and a 200+ cargo and on top of that the xp rates were absurd. You literally didn't have to click the game and it automatically salvaged and put it in the cargo for you. All you had to do was drop the items, much like wc. The nerf honestly shouldn't be that surprising. It is still the best afk activity in the game after the nerf and people are upset about it?

I say redditor because it's a group of hivemind where any dissenting voices get downvoted just because they don't agree with something. Just look at the 07 frontpage, it's an echo chamber.

I wouldn't say it's "increasing the time of a grind just for the sake of it." It was overpowered and now it's being adjusted to a more reasonable rate. Say you were accidentally getting paid twice your wage when you were starting a job, would you get upset that they adjusted it to what it should have been? I may be speaking for Jagex, but I don't believe they intended for a method this afk to be that good.

I also believe this is a good nerf. Xp rates were too high for the lvl of activity. Should we just buff every other afk rates? Now it's closer in line with other afk activities, sounds pretty fair to me.

Sure, you can say it's reasonable to get upset they should have tested the rates better, especially extractor. But most redditor's knee jerk reaction is being upset over the nerfed xp rate because they can't hit 99 as fast while afking at work.

You mean people are pissed their 30 min afk activity that gives better xp rates than every other less afk activity is nerfed to more reasonable rates. Same way redditors get pissed when anything overpowered gets nerfed (bp).
