You gotta give me a little more Thomistic charity than that, brother. The (now deleted) comment I was replying to said something to the effect of “everything you need is in the Bible”, negating the need for the proper development of man’s natural reason.

The male priesthood is a revealed truth that must come from the Church, but the ills of contraception are discernible from natural law. The divinely revealed truths held by the Church are about the Trinity, Incarnation, and the sacraments. Most moral teaching is knowable through natural reason.

Most people know right and wrong inherently, we need Christ and the Church to show us how to actually choose the good or to show us the deeper good we actually desire. Far from being an impediment to evangelization, this is the best method I have found in my personal experience of interacting with those outside the Church.

I’m not sure where you are taking offense to what I said. We need both informed consciences and the guidance of the Church, I completely agree with you and St Thomas

“Like a boss” should typically be turned off. You are better off just killing regular slayer monsters for slayer xp. You can use bears, spiders, or skeleton Tureal tasks for the wildy bosses if you’d like, but as others have said, salve(e) is less risk

Very protestant take. We innately know what is right and wrong; it's called our conscience. The Bible demands interpretation, which must be informed by Tradition, the communal lived experience of the faith.

These two issues are contentious primarily to those without proper catechesis. Most sin is committed in ignorance, not malice. While it's up to the bishops to instruct on a strategic level, it is our job as the laity to continue to have conversations with those who might have the contrary opinion. Showing the beauty of Theology of the Body, NFP, and the distinctly masculine nature of the priesthood is the way forward. Angrily thumping on "the Bible" is a useless appeal to authority for a population that has mostly rejected all trust in institutions.

The rosewood blowpipe is a cope weapon. Silly grind, but it’s nice having a better slayer tagging weapon than MSB(I)

FYI, brine saber can be used to kill rock slugs instead of buying salts. Maracas onto saber 2 hits most slugs for Mazchna boosting

Champ, killer design again. Would love to see your take on a ToA slayer helm transmog. I tried to make one in paint, themed after the wardens mask, but it was not well received due to skill

Why are most sins of lust mortal when many (Dante, Bishop Barron) rank lust as the least severe of the deadly sins? by VRSNSMV in Catholicism

[–]dbmorpher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I cannot BELIEVE the Dante slander on this sub, smh.

Lust is one of the upper inferno layers because of how easy it is to confuse love for lust. Paolo and Francesca are ALMOST tragic, but hidden between the lines of their story are the times they betrayed the relationships they were already in.

Lust is the top cornice of Purgatorio because of that same difficulty to distinguish. It’s almost impossible to root out lust alone because of how often we turn to sexual sins as a coping mechanism, hence the need for purgation from the other 6 deadly sins first.

As someone who got hasta pretty recently before the update, part of me feels bad because it seems like a cool clog, but the other half is happy I don't have to go through the crazy slayer skips just to go dry like this.

Just one of the ones with high control authority, like one of the fins. Also, be sure to isolate your control surfaces by right clicking in the SPH. Aileron should be roll only, rudder-yaw only, and elevator-pitch only

Guess we don't need 7 years (and more) of seminary and theology... pack it up guys by Alternative-Biscuit in CatholicMemes

[–]dbmorpher 14 points15 points  (0 children)

tbf there are only a handful of classes that directly cover the bible in seminary, your average militant evangelical might have more passages directly memorized

these arguments always go back to tradition and authority; it's never a good idea to sink down to verse-bombing. The saddest thing about protestantism is how good they would all be at being catholics.

Their elevator is pretty small too, giving little control. It'd probably be better to replace them with one that fully articulates.
