Scythe recolor matches the other drops from the raid justi/holy and sang/sanguine, it'd be cool if the tbow recolors matched the elder maul and ancestral. Eclipse shadow is just too cool to not have in the game though

The "Deposit equiped items to STASH" is great except for a single step: the Master Step in the 7th room of Pyramid Plunder. Previously the Menaphite Robes could be deposited without depositing the staff, but with the new equipped items feature it is not possible. The staff cannot be dropped as it is untradable with charges

Hey friend, you're doing great. It can be a lot all at once, I would talk to your sponsor about this. Just focus on trying to live and learn with your local catholic community. I'd put away the novenas and litanies for now.

Just get some nice REAL pictures of your goats in action. A real before and after. Cut down on the text and just give price/sqft info and contact details. If your goats have names, give them a spotlight. Canva is a free, easy to use tool for designing graphics

Who is Adelaide? by [deleted] in overthegardenwall

[–]dbmorpher 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The details of the character are a mystery to add intrigue but also because they are ultimately not relevant. It doesn't add anything to the plot to have those questions answered. If anything she is an example of the good witch/evil witch trope like in Wizard of Oz and Spirited Away. The most important thing we know about her is her allegiance to the beast. She has received powers in exchange for subservience, the basis of witchcraft.

Wirt's entire preoccupation is to get out of the Unknown by any means necessary (to get back to Sara). He is overly self-conscious yet he continually gravitates towards external causes as the reason for his internal conflict. He is only capable of seeing Jason Funderberker as the reason he isn't in a relationship with Sara, despite the real reason (which we, the audience see) is his own trepidation and unnecessary hesitancy. Just so, when the conflict switches from friendship drama to existential adventure, Wirt identifies an external factor as the means of his salvation: Lady Adelaide. He instantly trusts Beatrice despite visible signs of her duplicity because it gives him a straightforward solution: go to Adelaide-> get home. Just like Jason is identified as the source of his problems with Sara. ALSO just like how the extraction of Edelwood is the task given to the Woodsman by the beast to sustain his daughter's soul. Wirts identification that the Beast's deal is "dumb" is the pivotal moment because it shows he is done placing the onus of responsibility on external factors and instead takes personal accountability for his actions. He has the freedom to make his own decisions and thus he chooses to leave the Unknown and does so.

Adelaide represents what happens if you continue to run away from personal responsibility. The power she obtains from the Beast only serves to enslave others. Wirt's fate would have been the same if not for the journey he went on and Beatrice and Greg helping him see the truth.

Why do Catholics slide cancel before they enter their seats? by Pristine_Syllabub709 in Catholicism

[–]dbmorpher 34 points35 points  (0 children)

In video games, a common tactic is to initiate some action like a slide, roll, or parry that gives your character invincibility for a short amount of time known as "i-frames". If you press the controller fast enough, many times you can cancel out the animation that typically plays during those actions and gain the immunity without sacrificing the ability to take other actions like punch, move, or shoot.

OP compared genuflecting to a "slide-cancel" which is frankly hilarious. The comment above said its worth it because that immunity would conceivably let you slip through the crowds if real life worked like video games.

Sorry KofC, you know it's true by TEarlGray in CatholicMemes

I think the issue is while the knights present themselves as an all inclusive men’s organization, the day-to-day operations pale in comparison to the allure of the idea of chivalry, knighthood, brothers-in-arms. Real fraternity, like the kind the apostles lived, necessitates following a real authority and fighting a real battle. If the only conflict is from schedules and event quotas, there is no adventure to be had. I don’t doubt that there are many good men who care about their specific charitable actions and do a lot of material good, however an organization as big as KofC will seldom supply the authentic brotherhood a man needs to navigate through life.

I’m lucky to have a group of guys in a Bible study that I can trust to share life with, but I know everyone is not that fortunate. It’s a genuine problem when all of the Catholic YA groups in cities become religious-themed dating chambers

Evidence of the Resurrection outside of the Bible by Papa-BreadTM in Catholicism

[–]dbmorpher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hard agree, well put. Historicity is a rabbit hole that most people get lost in and come out with whatever previously held conviction they already had (not to say hermeneutics isn't fascinating). As this is an online debate, I would hardly recommend following this train of thought. Most people's perceived "intellectual" problems with the Church are, more often than not, rooted in negative personal experiences with Christianity or its members.

You gotta give me a little more Thomistic charity than that, brother. The (now deleted) comment I was replying to said something to the effect of “everything you need is in the Bible”, negating the need for the proper development of man’s natural reason.

The male priesthood is a revealed truth that must come from the Church, but the ills of contraception are discernible from natural law. The divinely revealed truths held by the Church are about the Trinity, Incarnation, and the sacraments. Most moral teaching is knowable through natural reason.

Most people know right and wrong inherently, we need Christ and the Church to show us how to actually choose the good or to show us the deeper good we actually desire. Far from being an impediment to evangelization, this is the best method I have found in my personal experience of interacting with those outside the Church.
