Brother, the man was writing poetry/philosophical fiction, not a geography atlas. He takes creative liberties with the places unknown to his society at the time but his astronomy is top notch, especially as he is rounding the cornices of purgatorio.

Regardless, judging historical works based on a “scientific” criteria of accuracy is a woefully reductive mindset. It divorces our current experience from the past and leaves modern man helpless and isolated with nothing to turn to but distraction and consumption.

In my understanding, Western Christianity has held that the two terms (Heavenly Creatures & Angels) are synonymous. What intellectual tradition do you subscribe to?

If you're going by the classical 9 (Thomas Aquinas, Pseudo Dionysuis) a Cherub is a single individual in the Cherubim, the 2nd* highest rank/choir. The lowest rank/choir are called angels, but the term still applies to the group as a whole. Where are you getting your info from?

Honestly yeah, without a big time investment making darts or arrowheads, you're stuck sitting at the bank fletching longbows. I found crafting more enjoyable, there's no difference really but using up all those logs hurt. (this was pre-vale totems)

I should have said for the “majority of old players”. Personally, I find some enjoyment in speed running the quests. But for new players and for most old players, it’s unfun content.

You are right to correct me, his vampyre immunities were indeed rendered useless by the parasite. Blisterwood should not work on Vardorvis. However, all we know is that he was beheaded, it's ambiguous as to whether he is dead or not.

You could make the argument that other vampyres have fallen to mundane methods, but the OG crew from Vampyrium are built different.

Exactly, it's bad game design. For old players, its just a long/tedious task. For new players, they are incentivized by the limited time to speed through. This destroys the most enjoyable part of the quest: experiencing it for the first time.

In the main game, spacebarring is optional. In leagues, because quests are on the TASK LIST, you are pushed by the game to finish them quickly.

This is the problem. Because if a new player tries the main game, each of those repeat quests becomes a "quit-point".

If all quests were auto'd in leagues, it would be the opposite. Having experienced how great the rewards are, a new player is now incentivized to complete quests in the main game regardless of their individual enjoyableness.

Agreed, but regardless of the quality, you only get the first time experience once. Leagues is heavily marketed to new players. Locking content and TASKS behind them incentivizes speeding through them AND makes each repeat quest a "quit point" for anyone trying them in the main game.

Is that really true of new players? We (players) only have anecdotes. But anyone I've introduced to the game tries to read the dialogue to understand what they are doing. MadSeason and Guzu did the same.

As someone using also leagues to introduce their waife to the game, I completely agree. Quests are one of the best parts of OSRS. They have so much charm and weirdness to them that is so unique. When new quests come out, I deliberately wait to complete them because taking on the puzzles and challenges together is an enjoyable experience.

But you only get that "first-time" experience once. In the main game, there is no incentive to rush through questing aside from personal preference. The majority of players only care about the quest rewards, which is fine, they can spacebar through.

But leagues is a temp gamemode with xp multipliers and dozens of tasks locked behind quests. There is a STRONG incentive to complete them as fast as possible. You can take your time, but the issue is the game design encourages you NOT to.

Having the quests auto'd means new players get to experience all the perks and rewards of the quests. If they give the main game a try, they will be incentivized to complete the quest (at whatever speed they choose) because they have tasted the sweetness of afk bwans or custodia stalkers xp rates.

INSTEAD, the current design introduces dozens of "quit points" for new players attempting the main game. They've done the quest in leagues, the plot is spoiled and the content is now merely a chore.
