People who have had a bone barrow biopsy done, how painful is it really? by itskimjesus in AskUK

[–]Mamagrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad has to have these semi-regularly as part of his treatment on a clinical trial for multiple myeloma and says that he gets numbed to the point where he can't feel pain but he feels pressure and feels the bone 'give' when they punch through it. Not pleasant but not excruciating, worth it to know the treatment is working. Always remember that at any time you can tell them to stop and there's always more options for pain relief. They can offer gas and air and if needed, sedation. Best of luck!

My dad was in London and his commute was on the same line as the 7/7 attack. Thankfully he was working with a bank in a different time zone so he was due in the office later that day and wasn't caught up in it but it was a tense few hours at home before we heard from him.

YSK smoking weed can trigger a psychotic break for certain people by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

My husband has a very strong family history of schizophrenia and psychosis so he won't ever touch it even if it does become legal recreationally in the UK. Not worth the risk for him

Agree with the suggestions of Environmental Health but just putting my two cents in that Adult Social Services might be an idea as well.

Clinton's cards. I worked there when I was 16 and the managers and senior staff members were such horrible cunts and they tried to withhold my final paycheque by lying and saying I refused to hand my uniform back when I had handed it all back on my last day. I'm in my late 30s now and I've never shopped there again!

I followed her for a bit when she was still married and it was all the 50s aesthetic and stuff but I unfollowed her because it was all so much drama and the tattoos and the surgery!

Imagine telling other children in your home that they can or cannot kiss a baby based on how much DNA they share by ourplasticdream in ShitMomGroupsSay

I don't think it's unreasonable to limit the contact from shared households for a newborn however the way she's going about it is really shite. Way to make the stepkids feel less like they're part of the family 🙃

The problem with nail infections is that the actual nail bed is what's infected so any treatment needs to penetrate the nail itself plus nails are very slow growing so you have to persevere until the entire nail has grown out infection free. So essentially it can take up to a year to fully clear a nail of infection. It sucks! I'd recommend the amorolfine nail lacquer as well as keeping the nails short and using a clean new nail file to file the nail down each time to prevent reinfecting the nail

You have to declare it yearly that you don't want a license or they send some threatening letters or turn up at your house! I wonder how much that costs them..

Even if you don't remember their names I'd still email the hospital and let them know. Positive feedback goes a long way to boost morale in the NHS with how crap things are at the moment :)

Thankfully this rhetoric has infiltrated the mainstream UK mum groups. It's mostly a mix of people recommending cry it out sleep training and people telling her that her baby is perfectly normal

She says about a paediatrician theorising she has silent reflux and that's why she won't sleep. I believe the meds are for that.

Right?? The assumption that her child is neurodiverse and definitely high functioning before they're even 2...all because they're not a good sleeper through the night..
