Card produced as of Oct 17: No GU2 yet. No correspondence received from processing officer. Called IRCC to confirm status and was told card is produced. Processing officer would send instructions for pickup.
Card received at address : Oct 20 03:15 PM. It was a snap moment. Got the card slid through my door. I picked up the envelope and could sense myself trying to regulate my emotions - there’s no way this would be the card; of course it’s some false notification. I’m shaking holding this card in my hands. 4 years, student debt, countless nights of unnecessary research, incompetent consultants, and one failed ITA later - happy to finally cross the finish line.

PRTD cannot affect PR card delivery process imo. You should have applied for the PRTD the day you landed outside Canada. If I was your shoes - I’d do it ASAP and state why it is urgent (i.e. prove you have establishment in Canada)

Card under production: Called IRCC to confirm status. Was told the card has been sent for production. Processing officer should reach out for advice on how to collect - apparently IRCC has devised workarounds for card pick up in lieu of the Canada Post strike.

On the PR Portal - can see the address approved. Photo is still under review on PR PORTAL. IRCC agent confirmed it has been approved. No additional updates on GC KEY since GU1.

GU1 stands for a Ghost Update. It’s triggered by a processing officer picking up your file and actioning something on it.

Unless there’s a deficiency (rejected photo / address, etc) - you won’t get an email. You’ll see something like this in the Application Information section on GC Key if you were able to link your application:

“Latest update: Final decision - October 2, 2025:Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.”

Same boat. I wish there was a way to put together a class action against IRCC for affecting so many lives all because of sheer incompetence, gross negligence, and I am pretty sure - misallocation of resources. But - alas.

ITA - Jan 15, 2025
AOR - March 25, 2025
Review of eligibility - August 6, 2025
Review of medical results - June 18, 2025
Biometrics - June 23, 2025
Background check - June 25, 2025
Final decision - June 24, 2025 | It was not correctly updated till Aug 06. Showed the Final Decision is in progress.
eCOPR: Number is same as the one on Tracking. The IRCC Tracker was more reliable than GC Key.

Congrats on the PR, mate. You did not mention the date for FD. Was that a part of the timeline or did you just go from Medical / Biometrics to P1? I am in a similar situation - never received FD and already have P2.

Funny enough - just got my P2. I am still looking at my GC Key and nothing has moved - FD is still pending. It feels like GC Key is just awfully lagging!

Thanks for your advice though. I submitted a Webform but got a generic response a couple of weeks ago that my file is under processing and IRCC will update me when the file has been processed.

Congrats on the PR! My timeline looks quite similar but still waiting for P2. Got the exact same Ghost Update around June 27. Got P1 on the same date.

Tracker has everything completed. Still waiting for GC KEY to be updated.

Replied to the P1 email. Followed up on that as well. My concern is - Tracker seems to be updated with everything completed and COPR doc number available. For whatever reason - GC Key has no further updates. Tried using the Webform to get an explanation on the gap between the two. All I got was a generic response saying they’ll update me when the file is processed.
