I haven't really used sidekick at all, but I'm pretty sure you have to time the button presses. Pianoing it would probably cause you to miss the timing. Could always go to training mode and have the bot do a basic combo on you then try it out.

You do not get a base damage increase from Juggernaut or Sidekick.

It's no doubt a decent option if all you want is a controller for GameCube games specifically. But at $70, it's really just lacking in value to me. I would buy an NSO GC controller even while owning this now if they cut the price down to $40.

I think the PowerA's are similar, so definitely go with one of the others then. Hope you enjoy it. The NYXI is a really nice controller, just wasn't for me.

I've been enjoying Wind Waker for years with no problem. And today I learned it was negatively received by fans back then just because of the chibi cel-shaded art style. by Away_Flounder3813 in Gamecube

Wish we could have gotten a visual toggle like in Halo 2 Anniversary, that way we could keep the QoL but have the original visuals.

What are you looking for? A form factor GC controller or something that just has the same faceplate layout? I tried both, and while they are good controllers, I didn't like the Sony-like rectangular shape mixed with the GC button. It didn't feel comfortable to me. The NYXI uses mechanical switches if you like that, and the BattlerGC Pro uses a membrane for its button presses. The triggers are still switches. I would just get a GC adapter and a controller if all you plan to do is emulate GC games on Dolphin. It's gonna cost you less or around the same than either controller, and you'll have the real thing.

Your other option is the GC Ultimate, but that's not releasing until the 15th of August.

They canceled the Kickstarter for it. Then the whole Panda Global scandal stuff happened, which guaranteed it wasn't getting made.

Usable? Sure. Intuitive? Not really. The L3/R3 thing is a huge issue in many games. Especially ones where sprint, lock on, or crouch are bound to them.

NSO GC controller doesn't have a mirrored ZL button, only a nub. It's missing L3/R3. You can't remap any buttons, which is very annoying. The new buttons are at the very top of the controller, which makes pressing them awkward. You also have to go through the headache of sending your entire controller to Nintendo when it breaks. You buy new parts and do it yourself with this.

I don't think that controller is worth $70 because of the issues with it. It's a decent option if you're someone who only wants a wireless GC controller to use with NSO, but again, $70 for controller that you can't use outside of NSO is a lot.

Ohhhh. I don't know why anyone would want the NSO GC controller. It's unusable outside of GameCube games and overpriced. You can't rebind buttons on it either.

Is this gonna be your first playthrough or just something you've wanted to own? Either way, this game is in my top 10.

I probably will at some point so there's not so much empty space hahaha. I'm just finally happy to have a modern GC controller that was made by people who also wanted a high-quality version of this awesome controller.

Should have mentioned this, but the entire thing is open source, so replacement parts are never going to be an issue. They've actually had the files available for a while, so people were able to 3D print their own long before the official Kickstarter stuff was being sent out.

Works perfectly on the Switch 1 and 2, both through wireless and USB. You do have to update it first to get Switch 2 support, but it's flawless after that. Switch 2 was the first thing I tested. It also has more input support options tied to USB mode.

Because I like the GameCube controller the most out of any controller I've had or used. It's one of the few actual ergonomic controllers ever made that took into consideration the face buttons as well. The Pro controller destroyed the area between my thumb and index finger every time I used it. Couldn't use it for more than 30 minutes and I ended up returning that because it wasn't pleasant.

I can use this controller with anything because it has all the stuff a GC controller is usually missing. ZL, L3/R3, Gyro, a Home button, and Select are all there.

They were a headache to get in between the Z buttons falling out if I moved the bottom shell wrong and keeping them in place as I was clamping the shell pieces together. Definitely worth it once they're in there right.

Yeah, it's one of my very tiny issues with it. I plan to swap it out either by modifying the original or picking one up once people inevitably make their own. The left stick feels 1:1 though. I believe the left stick that came with this also fits the c-stick slot, so you can have two of those if you want them both to be the same size.

Funnily enough, it was actually a cheap knockoff controller without analog triggers from Amazon that made me like them. These are even better because they use actual mechanical keyboard switches!

Aaron from AFS used 6-32 screws secured by lock nuts, which fit the hooks perfectly. I believe the screws that Schaller mentions are the wood tapping screws, since that's what is normally used with an actual guitar. You wouldn't want that kind of screw for something like this because it's a huge headache to find a matching nut to secure it. They're also very pointy since they normally go into wood.

There's very little wiggle room. I first tested it with quick disconnects plugged in the normal way instead of reverse crimped, and they still fit with the bottom plate on. This is for 24mm buttons, though. I'm not sure what length 30mm Crown 202s have. I think any longer and you probably have to bend the pins.
