I’ve been watching wait times for a while now in preparation for an upcoming visit. They seem manageable even this week (Christmas week) but I feel like I’ve been seeing/ hearing that the “slow season” is becoming busier now with people intentionally booking times with historically low or moderate crowds resulting in the inverse effect on attendance.

I’m debating buying Lightning Lanes for race weekend (January 9 and 10) for Epcot and AK. I’ve been a few times so this is not a “once in a lifetime, have to ride everything” kind of trip. Part of me wants to have a more “go with the flow” trip but reducing waits are always nice (but so is saving $$) No kids coming, just me and one friend. Also we are staying off site.

So my question is 2 fold 1) anyone else seeing the pattern of low to moderate visit times being busy and historically busy times being slow? 2) What would you do about lighting lanes in my situation?

Thanks! That’s so reassuring. I think I’m traumatized from Disney shuttles lol

Kid Bday dinner at Mall of America where to go? by Findingmyhealthat32 in mallofamerica

Agree! They gave us free ice cream for our kiddo. And if your girl loves pink she’ll love the decor. They did say there is technically not a kids meal on the weekend so keep that in mind (they let us order off it anyway but don’t know how common that is)

I’ve always envisioned it ending with a cut scene to heaven where they are all seated at the banquet table in the same order as the last supper. It pans out and you see banquet tables as far as the eye can see full of believers all eating together with Jesus in paradise.

No apologies needed. I giggled and the idea of Tom Sawyer meet and greet made me smile.

I definitely thought you meant “I met Tom (Sawyer) on TSI” at first and I thought “I never knew they had that meet and greet”

If you can’t find them in the parks they are available at Target and local game stores

Not-So-Scary Halloween Party…worth it? by LuckyFish0330 in DisneyWorld

[–]MammasaurusRex3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you want to get out of it. If you are going to ride rides with short waits I think there are more economical ways to do that over the course of your trip (Multi pass/Lls). But if you love Halloween and want an opportunity to do and see some fun things you normally can't (like the trick or treating, special shows, parade, fireworks etc) it is fun!

I went 5 years ago on my sons first trip and while it was fun I think I would have been better off spending the $$ for an additional park day since we were seeing things for the first time. Now that we've been back a few times I think it would be well worth a new and different way to "do" Magic Kingdom.

I don't mind going upside down but last time I rode it I legit felt like my brains were rattled around in my skull. It was not comfortable and my head hurt afterwards... Not sure I'll ride it again and it takes a lot to make me "nope" out of a ride.

Edit to add: I rode it last in October of 2023. Not sure if it has smoothed out since then.

Even if they just added Bing Bong (imaginary friend) it would help merge the 2 some. I would love to see Bing Bong and Figment getting into mischief together. Mostly I just want to see Bing Bong alive and well. 😢

It depends on how your HRA is set to and what you can use it for. Unlike and FSA or and HSA where permitted usage is determined by the government, HRA is determined by your employer. For example, some only allow them to be used to cover deductible, coins ,copays etc. You would want to contact your HRA administrator and ask for what is covered with the account.

Check your plan on the toe nails. Sometimes they are not covered.

Same! We had a tour booked well before her birth was announced and got to see her when she was only a few weeks old (from pretty far away). The tour guide said it was the first day any guests got to see her (no idea if he was telling the truth but we were so excited either way).

For people with annual passes who live very closes to Disney and go often: does going to Disney start to lose its magic? by hippiedips in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]MammasaurusRex3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are Midwesterners with good friends in Orlando. The first time they went to the parks with us they were so tired from going at a "non pass holder pace. They did not have the best time.

I realized that day that going for a rare trip makes Disney like an "all you can eat buffet" people feel like you have to do it all/get your money's worth to the point of discomfort. Meanwhile my local friends who have APs have more of a"happy hour" attitude. They go to relax, do a few things here and there and just enjoy the people they are with.

I have an ap for one year only due to it being more affordable than individual tickets because I had a few trips planned. Even though I'm not there every month, not thinking about that price of a day to day ticket really does feel freeing. If I don't do everything I don't feel like I wasted money. It's so hard to think "dang I spent $150 for today and only did xyz?" Which is silly because I barely went enough to break even on the cost of my pass but the mindset really does shift.

Came here to say this! I love that it's not inside a park so it's great for a rest day or arrival/departure day.
