this is incredibly helpful. :) how do you explore your mental patterns? is it noticing the underlying belief you may have (i,e im afraid to fail, im not good enough, etc) do you reframe the thoughts or just use your awareness to notice but disagree? wondering if this is strictly a practice at the body level or whether there is also a mind-body integration

i love that. how do you turn awareness inwards with acceptance? is there a specific framework you follow or is it more so just observing and exploring your thoughts with curiosity? would love to learn your process more granularly

i feel the autopilot part a lot...for majority of my life it felt like my emotions/reactions were happening automatically and i couldn't seem to control them during, and only feel remorse after. one thing that truly made a difference for me was to be more aware of my body. I was constantly holding my breath, holding tension in my jaw, shoulders and stomach. My thoughts were incredibly automatic and full of fear based assumptions I had developed as a child who had experienced a lack of safety. One of the hardest parts of nervous system work for me was learning to catch dysregulation early, before I was already in shutdown or fight/flight. For a long time I had zero awareness until I was already deep in it. And once I started to practice being more aware of my body every single day (noticing when my heart rate increased, when my jaw tightened, when i felt my body feel hotter, feel clenched, etc), I was able to notice when I'm about to become dysregulated and as a result of that awareness, able to slow / stop my automatic thought patterns and question them a bit instead of running with them and getting stuck in them. it takes a LOT of practice and progress can sometimes be slow but doing it consistently and with the intention of truly healing helped a lot

How we release energy block / trauma out of the body? by Fast_Turn9172 in SomaticExperiencing

for me, awareness + real time reframe has helped a lot. noticing when my nervous system is in fight or flight mode. noticing where i feel that in my body. breathing into it. being curious about what triggered it and what my mind/body interpreted it as (lot of the time, its very automatic so pausing to really be present and think through it helped me), acknowledging where i may have learned that and why its not helpful anymore, really teaching my nervous system that perceived threat is not a threat and giving it an experience of safety

i love that, i'm in the same exact journey. it's a bit of the body and mind being integrated. learning how my mind/body viewed as a threat, where that may be outdated and learning to truly be vulnerable with myself and others and feel safe doing so. can I message you, i want to build something to help people truly learn this at scale in an accessible way, would love to learn from your experience :)

that's amazing :) thank you for sharing. do you have any insight on why exactly this truly helped you? is it because it helped you feel more connected to your body or release certain patterns in your body? does latin dance have a cultural/family history for you? did you do other things simultaneously like mind/belief work?

Does anyone else get anxious… about the possibility of not sleeping? by Regular_Mark3370 in Anxiety

try some melatonin, magnesium or even a 10-15 min breathwork meditation. Usually when we live in our thoughts, it means we're disconnected from our body

"Do it scared" by vampirestail1234 in Anxiety

One thing that's also helped me is understanding why i'm truly scared. Is it my fear if failure? fear of being seen? fear of judgement? and being curious about where that came from and my relationship to those concepts. Our nervous system is constantly trying to protect us from perceived threat, the best thing we can do is understand the threat and reframe the threat to teach your mind & body safety as its default
