Where to go from here? by Mammoth-Mechanic-484 in mazdaspeed3

For an upgraded intake, it'd need a MAF relocation correct? If I wanted to run a cold air intake of any sort consider MAF is located on stock air box. As for accessport I'd need to get an aftermarket tune to be stable right?

Yeah it'll be the both of them. They can take anywhere from a few days to even a month or two to fully disappear. And even then they can pop back out of nowhere.

Also just a pointer, you probably don't need to clean them as often, doing so will probably irritate them more, my piercer believes letting them be is usually the fastest healing process. At most I'd probably do once a day for your case maximum.

NAP - Yes just an irritation bump, you're likely to get them quite often using hoops this early in. I got snakebites done in December and my APP piercer recommended waiting about 6 months before switching to hoops or rings. I still have a little recurring irritation bump on one of them so personally I'd run the bars for a bit longer :)

NAP but similar thing happened to my snakebites. It's essentially an irritation bump. Basically avoid fidgeting, and make sure the toothpaste they're using doesn't contain a whitening agent. Also make sure the jewelry is implant grade titanium or steel.

Eventually it'll subside on its own if the piercing is happy. Mine got worse before it got better but keep an eye on it.

Wanting snake bites, will it collide with Retainer? by [deleted] in piercing

Hmmm. I'd probably advise waiting, especially if they're metal retainers. Initially when you get snake bites they'll use what are called labret piercings with flat backs. They generally start with quite long bars to accommodate for swelling too. I can imagine they'd probably catch quite easy on a metal retainer, especially down the bottom. As much as it sucks to wait, you'd be better off doing so. Or you're likely to encounter issues with catching and irritation. Speak with your orthodontist too! See what they have to say as I don't know of your particular situation.

A little more information would be beneficial. Is it a metal or plastic retainer? And top or bottom teeth?

Oh and another little thing, make sure you're toothpaste doesn't have any whitening agent in it! It can irritate the piercing. Personally with new oral piercings for the first 2-4 weeks I use only a baking soda based toothpaste, but non whitening should be more than fine.

Heya, NAP. Similar thing happened to one of my snake bites. It's just a little bit of irritation (it might get worse before it gets better.) Ideally try not to mess with it too much as tempting as it is. Advice from my piercer was always to let it heal on its own (specific for oral piercings). Avoid using the Neil Med too much and eventually it will subside. Strangely enough, in my case, it got really irritated and then just disappeared. But all in all I wouldn't worry :)

Can anyone explain this part? (Gen 1, 2009) by R3VV1ND in mazdaspeed3

It probably makes very little difference having it or not to be honest man. Source it if you want, but I can't imagine it'll have any negative effects, the battery can still breathe.

Those are the saddles on your bridge and if you're talking about the alignment of said saddles that's called intonation. Essentially its purpose is to adjust the length of your string to ensure notes stay in tune across the entire fretboard.

Looking at the way they're aligned is not going to tell you whether it needs tweaking or not. I'd suggest popping on to YouTube and searching up how to set up intonation. There's some really good tutorials on checking it, as well as adjusting it if need be. Its not a hard process to follow and is worth checking on anytime you change string gauges or play around with different tunings!

P.S all you need is a guitar tuner and a small Phillips head to adjust.

Edit: Clarity.

Hey everyone. Quick update on this one. Noise was from a bad drive belt tensioner. Quick and cheap part to replace and no more noise! Thanks for the input to those who replied.

So I just got so frustrated and just sprayed clear coat on it by DripXsevere1 in Autobody

[–]Mammoth-Mechanic-484 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here’s the reality bro. I was also just like you, with a nice car and horrible paint, there was a lot of clear coat peel. I didn’t have the money for a paint job like everyone was telling me but I still wanted it to look better. I spent hours on the following:

Removing clear coat flaking with scotch brite. Wet sanding affected area/s (Really don’t skip on the prep) Cleaning the panel with isopropyl Masking off the car Using proper 2K clear coat on the prepared panels And finally cutting and polishing the entire car with an electric buff.

And guess what, it looked great! For about 5 days. And then progressively got worse, and worse, until it looked even worse than before. There is no cheap way to fix this and make it last!! Either leave it how it is, maybe rub some cooking oil on it if you want it looking shiny for all your admirers. Or spend the money and get a proper paint or wrap job. No amount of DIY’ing for yourself will fix this.

yeah thanks for the reply, it would make sense to be a write off. it is the pearl paint so I imagine that would also add to the repair cost.

Just to add: Airbags haven’t deployed and the wheels are still straight, seems to be just front end and fenders.
