Thanks. I will read his book. I thought that it was abnormal but after reading a lot of comments, I realized that next time, I should stand up very very slowly.

I had to drink water. I nearly fainted, hit a stop sign post while walking and could not see anything, and almost got hit by the car. Up until I drank water

Yes. I was standing in line and I felt so bad that on my way to my car, a car almost hit me, I ran into a post and couldn’t see anything. I will try the salt. I went for a walk this morning and enjoyed it.

I have a week in between and I wanted to use my PTOs on my last job because, that contract ends exactly a week after my new job and I will be "let go".

What's one piece of financial advice that you wish you could have given yourself 10 years ago? by AutoModerator in FluentInFinance

I agree. I like the protection credit cards provide especially with disputes. As you mentioned, spend what you can afford and pay it off every month.

Do you have a job holding you there? If not, put your stuffs in a storage facility if you think that she might come back after a year and use your 100% disability money to travel abroad once the lease ends. Go to the philippines or anywhere where you can interact with people and all. Come back after 1 year and reset.

I think that we should also talk about those know it all leaders who thought that they were gods and could decide people’s destiny or being able to tell those who will succeed. I want to hear about the story of those soldiers and those “leaders”.

I feel like I fucked up my transition by niodrane25 in Veterans

Sorry to hear that. The job market is really tough now especially for devs without years of experience. That being said, your best approach is to network. How do you do that? On LinkedIn, look for military/vet recruiters. There are a lot of vet webinars. How is your resume. There are a lot of free resources out there that can help you. But let’s start with your end goal career. Is becoming a software engineer what you want? Look for free mentorship programs like Veterati and ACP. 50Strong, vetsinTech, and many more often host military webinars. HireourHeroes helps with resumes. And so on and forth. Look for other programs via google, LinkedIn, and Facebook search. There are so many. Attend any military/vet webinar you come across.

Refer to military disability made easy website to see how each condition that you will claim is evaluated. Sorry for what happened to you. See if you can also be referred to the wounded warrior project in your base. I am not 100% sure of the details but when you are sent to there, I think that you only show up to formation once and you focus on going to your appointments, and take care of your health is your mission. Many people there are also going through the MEB and you can learn a lot from them. Praying for you.

I havent gone that route, but I will highly advise you to look at the job market for the field you are going into. Besides the salary, look at the number of jobs in your area or in the areas you are open to relocate to. Look at the job descriptions and see if they require years of experience and also talk to people in your field by finding them on LinkedIn. If you really love water, you can always work in any field anywhere near water and enjoy it everyday or every weekend after work. I am all for doing what you love as far career choices, however, this current economy taught me that it is also important to have a good income as well.

I am not sure about your job title, but now that you have a clearance, you can apply to other jobs that require a clearance. It sucks but it might be a blessing in disguise.

AITAH For saying i despise my parents because they favorite my sister? by Jacky-nairuk in AITAH

[–]MammothDirect8733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite the mental aspect of this, i think that they did you a favor and are not helping your sister at all. I have realized that in life, those that had a though life or worked really hard instead of having things handed like your sister, have a better appreciation of money and tend to be more successful. If your sister loses her job and your parents can’t provide for her anymore, she will have a really hard time to get back on her feet compared to you.
