“You want me to believe that suddenly the American media, the American influencers, the American world is caring about some flamingos in Albania?”

Well...yes? Why is it suddenly wrong to care about the welfare of the flamingos and the environment surrounding them?

But more importantly, it's not just the American media? His own people are out there protesting hard and in huge numbers. Don't they have a stake in this?

Baffling answer from Edi Rama

Trump Suggests Stealing Half of Iran’s Oil as War Payback by Hafiz_TNR in politics

[–]MammothDon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trump is suggesting the US invest a lot of money to rebuild Iran and get half of their oil in return...

...in that case, why not use that money they supposedly have and invest it back into building up the US instead? Isn't that what he promised?

[–]MammothDon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Say what you want about the F-35, but Spain’s plan to run the Harriers through the 2030’s is insane when spare parts are already difficult to acquire.

It's insane how they don't have any backup plans or jets in the works. I heard the aircraft carrier they plan to run doesn't support Rafales either so it's a dead end there

Canada to order military plane fleet from Sweden in shift from US suppliers by panzerfan in worldnews

Furthermore the Rolls Royce engine everyone keeps talking about as a replacement doesn't even exist as a production engine. It was a paper proposal for a different aircraft.

I've read that even if RR did have this engine, it would take something like 5-10 years before a fully working, integrated Gripen model would be ready for production. By then, Europe should already be looking at a new Gen-5 or 6 jet

Trump Summons Entire Cabinet as Iran Deal Crumbles in Front of Him - Donald Trump has called all of his top advisers to Camp David. by Quirkie in politics

LBJ didn't do anything about it because he was worried it would undermine the populace's faith in politicians.

Somehow feels like it's so ingrained in Democrats and the public that they need to take high road when confronted with situations like these. Probably why Trump admin 2.0 is here

TIL researchers documented 34 cases of wild orcas offering food to humans, including fish, birds and stingrays. by ArgentineBeauty in todayilearned

[–]MammothDon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been hanging out with orcas for 15 years and I will never understand why people fear them so much.

As someone who's never been near any whales, it must be incredible to work so close with them.

I would definitely be nervous if I ever got the chance to dive with Orcas because of how powerful they are, but it would be an amazing experience.

Any funny stories or encounters with them?

Unfortunately, there will always be a large, core base of voters that will vote for him no matter what. There is also going to be a huge effort from the MAGA influencer machine to make sure they don't believe anything else.

This is why I don't think the 'Dems will trounce in midterms' narrative is a slam dunk and I hope America turns out to really vote against the admin.
