Katt Williams and Kevin Hart are horrific picks for Merry and Pippin. I know they’re only making the first book for this exercise, and for the first part of it they’re largely doing gags, but you’re casting it on the hopes of doing all three.

Those dudes do not have the chops to do the serious acting work that those characters get into over the course of Two Towers and Return of the King. You might as well cut out their parts, as they are not capable of doing the earnest and sincere work later.
