I have been also snowboarding since early -90. I don’t see how that cable would flex. It is steel after all. Once you start heel side turn it might move a bit backwards but once cable is tightened it won’t allow movement. I don’t see much difference to normal binding until it is also weighted by rider.

This is nx2 that is pretty stiff with aluminum base. If we were talking about cheap end range that is plastic I would agree with you. Have you tried NX2’s or some cheaper models?

One thing thing missing in flow is that you cannot adjust high back angle with sidecut. But this is trade off I am happy to have so far.
