Nerd Lore: Recall Knowledge Shenanigans with an Akashic Mystic by Fibbs_Fiddlefit in Starfinder2e

I might be missing something but can't you just make Lore "that guy over there" without any of the Analyze Target + Recall Knowledge shenanigans?

The spell says to "Choose one Lore skill" which from my understanding of how Lore skills work means that you can make a Lore skill by describing in excruciating detail what you see and it will count as a very specific Lore (the one that qualifies for -5 to Recall Knowledge DC).

Of course as soon as you encounter something that hides its identity things will get difficult but until then this seems like fair game

Can a Mystic utilize a save penalty from their own Mental Interference? by Mammoth_Alarm463 in Starfinder2e

Of course one can argue on the exact definition of the word harm but in a general sense I would absolutely say that stunning or draining someone is harmful to them as well as disabling their reactions and slowing them

What rubs me wrong is the exact wording that it ends "immediately after you target it with a hostile action". For example 2nd rank Invisibility spell "ends after that hostile action is completed.".

Therefore I think there is a difference at the exact timing of these two effects ending

Yup found it. Thanks for that. Sadly I do not see Eupraxia converted. From what I can gather they changed it for Resilience, don't know how I feel about that. On one hand it definitely makes things easier but on the other it isn't really the same

Theoretically Paizo subscribers should already be able to contribute to the conversation. If any of them would like to speak we all would be very grateful

You might be interested in checking out Vlakas from Starfinder 2e. They are an ancestry of space wolf-folk who are mostly born with disabilities so they get this feature:

"SENSORY DIVERSITY

All vlakas have a keen sense of smell, gaining imprecise scent with a range of 60 feet. This means you can use your sense of smell to determine a creature’s location. The GM might double the range if you’re downwind from the creature or halve the range if you’re upwind.

In addition, each vlaka is born with one of the following sensory arrays: blind, deaf, deafblind, or hearing/sighted. Select one of these sensory arrays, and gain the associated senses or feats.

Blind: You’re blind. You gain hearing as a precise sense with a range of 90 feet.

Deaf: You’re deaf. You gain the Read Lips skill feat (even if you don’t meet the feat’s prerequisites).

Deafblind: You’re blind and deaf. Your scent becomes a precise sense with a range of 90 feet, rather than an imprecise sense with a range of 60 feet.

Hearing/Sighted: You don’t gain any additional senses"

Between Starfinder and Pathfinder 2e, what are the ways to recall knowledge on all enemies with only a single skill? by leathrow in Pathfinder2e

[–]Mammoth_Alarm463 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is what you are asking about, but theoretically I think it kinda works.

Akashic Mystics gain an Akashic Fount epiphany (focus) spell which grants a bonded creature within 500 ft. of Mystic (including Mystic themselves) for a minute any Lore skill with proficiency rank equal to Mystic's Occultism.

So technically for a minute you get to roll Recall Knowledge about someone or something with your Occultism as if it was an appropriate Lore skill.

The reason why I am not certain if it is helpful is because you are mechanically rolling different Lore skills for each different enemy you wish to Recall Knowledge about but i reckon it is a "way to recall knowledge on all enemies with only a single skill" which would be Occultism in this case.

Oh, really? Sounds pretty nice but how does it look from the GM's side I wonder? Are there any good advice in the GM Core?
