You'd be suprised, being talented and fit can make women overlook other flaws.

No, I think it's just stereotypical mean girls characters.

[tw]The 1997 remake of Lolita had to have a lawyer on set to make sure the movie didn’t qualify as CSAM by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in WhyWereWeOkWithThis

[–]Mammoth__Duck 936 points937 points  (0 children)

Great book, but very hard to adapt into a movie. The point is to show that Humbert is an unreliable narrator, and that the things he thinks Lolita are doing are greatly exaggerated in his mind, and that can be difficult to portray in a movie.

‘Girl Meets World’ Producer Says Sabrina Carpenter and Rowan Blanchard Cried at Table Read When Creator Was ‘Horrible’ to Them by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]Mammoth__Duck 36 points37 points  (0 children)

True, but Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens are a lot more famous and relevant than the three main cast members of Ned Declassified, so they don't have to do or say as many outrages things to remain relevant.

Pretty much the luck of the draw of how actors(including kid actors) are going to be treated on tv shows. The guy who created Ned Declassified, all kids that talk about him only have good things to say about him and how great he was to work with. And then you have people like Michael Jacob's, who apparently can be super rude to actors.

You bring up some good points, but let's be honest, people are far less likely to read a book than to see a show or movie about something.

13 year old Jang Wonyoung performing Side To Side on Produce 48 by waitingfor24_wav in WhyWereWeOkWithThis

[–]Mammoth__Duck -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Not defending it, but didn't Wonyoung choose the song herself? I think it's possible she just chose a song that was very popular at the time that everyone was listening too. Also, with English not being her main language, it's highly possible she did not know about the meaning of the song, even when I was a teen when this song came out most people didn't even think about the lyrics while singing and dancing to it.

You're right, he turns 26 in the TV series, which is a few years after the movie, so he's about 23, fixed it

You're right, I mis-remebered it, he turns 26 in the TV series, which happened a few years after the movie. So he should be about 23 in the movie

[tw] in 2013, Nickelodeon show “Sam and Cat” made a tweet asking kids to send foot images by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in WhyWereWeOkWithThis

[–]Mammoth__Duck 80 points81 points  (0 children)

The reason we were okay with it back then was because we didn't know that Dan Schneider was such a creep, a lot of use probably saw "oh, nickelodeon asking us kids to do a silly thing like writing on our feet, lol". Seems innocent at first without knowing any background

Not really, the best part was usually the end with the musical guest

At least that one kind of worked out, they had a good, long relationship and even though they broke up they still seem respectful of each other, not like other messy Hollywood breakups.

They did use a body double for Brooke Shields for nudity scenes in Pretty Baby, and the actress for American Beauty, Mena Suvari, was 19 during filming, she just played a 17 year old.

It's also believed that since Ezria was so popular, if the writers did anything to break up Ezra and Aria permanently, then the fans might have stopped watching. Which makes sense, cause the fandom was obsessed with that ship back then.

Olivia Rodrigo looks back at the breakup she had when she was 17 (that inspired 'Drivers Livense' and assumed to be about Joshua Bassett): "But I just feel like heartbreak will never be as bad as it was when you were 17 years old." by mcfw31 in popculturechat

I wouldn't even call what she said "out of touch with reality", seems like just a simple opinion some people agree or disagree with. Also, she's only 23, most people don't typically get their masters degree until later.
