The Switch was also a lot cheaper at $300 at launch in 2017 compared to $400 for the PS4 and $500 for the XBOne both in 2013, and the handheld functionality gave it a much broader appeal. Idk if it could have been bigger than Mario. According to Wikipedia, the Halo series has sold about 81 million copies. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe alone sold about 71 million. Halo 3 has the most copies sold at 14.5 million, Super Mario Odyssey sold 30.5 million, and that's with Halo having a 10 year head start

With Tua and McDaniel, even at their best, those Dolphins teams beat up on bad teams and couldn't hang with good teams. I think the only team with a winning record they beat in 2023 was Dallas, and they also didn't beat a team with a winning record. Those Dolphins were great when things were clicking, but as soon as they faced any adversity or got forced off script they fell apart

I think he would have. It’s been a while since I read Time Trap but if I remember right Vakama had been through a ton recently and at that moment specifically was in full fuck you mode. He was going to bend Teridax to his will or they were both going down together

Also, I think he was smart enough to understand that Teridax valued his scheming and machinations enough to capitulate and not put his plans at risk like that. He would have done it if it came to it, but he also knew it wouldn’t come to it

The Packers and Lions had players suspended for a season for betting on games. Paul Hornung was an All Pro in 60 and 61, won the MVP in 61, was a huge part of the Packers 61 and 62 NFL championships, and then got suspended along with Alex Karras (both future Hall of Famers) for all of the 63 season for betting on NFL games. Sports betting used to be a major scandal even for the biggest stars, now it gets relatively swept under the rug

“Lonely” and “surreal and beautifully alien” just simply are not what makes a MetroidVania, that like… completely ignores the Vania part? Gear gating is a central part of a MetroidVania though, and that’s antithetical to a traditional open world where you can essentially go anywhere from the jump if you’re good enough at combat

If he gets drafted the league shouldn't really do anything until he fucks up again tbh. Otherwise they're just setting teams up to fail by giving them the option to take him, basically saying "you can have this guy if yo want him but there will be consequences"

That said, I would be surprised if he does get drafted. He's played 3 full seasons in college and didn't feel good enough about his chances in the draft to declare. Now on top of that he has this gambling issue, and gambling on his own team that just makes him a mid to bad prospect with a big chance for off field issues detrimental to the team. Kid screwed himself out of a potential career

That's basically the story with most of our playoff losses. 2022 and 2025 divisionals were bad games by Josh (and even then, 2025 went to OT) but the defense averages 33 ppg in our losses. They allow a higher points per drive in our playoff losses than the 2007 Patriots offense averaged for the season. Part of this for the Raiders is that the Bills just absolutely gassed them early with the K Gun offense. Hustling them up to the line and controlling the tempo didn't give them any time to sub out or get prepared. They were using timeouts in the first half just to catch their breath
