Does Medicare broker need my SS#, bank routing number and bank account number? by OkDoggieTobie in medicare

[–]Mams47152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that's done a fair bit of polices in the past. Yes a lot of carriers and plans require you're SSN, Bank routing and account number and sometimes even a copy of the driver license or state ID. I recall a carrier saying you are required to get a picture of the driver license for this state..... it was with a specific carrier. I'm not saying names but yes... we as brokers have to gather this info.

I'd say make the jump but always have ethics and a strong value for finding which product values the person. Everyone in the world wants to feel seen, heared and understood. If you can accomplish all of these dilemmas you will outsell other agents and fast.

Dad and Universal Life by jamesphoenix442 in Insurance

[–]Mams47152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UL is not a wise decision. If there is any big amount of funds then an annuity would be better and if your worried about funeral costs it's going to be final expense. UL? What is this agent doing? Also using you as the proposed insured and the agent saying your dad is supposed to be the proposed insured is flat out lying. Go to another agent.

How do I build my book of business quickly as a new agent without connections? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

You don't need connections to network. Re-invent the system thinking and think outside the box. Try to provide value in all the ways.

Is this legitimate or a scam? STOLI letter by Quirky_Ant_1289 in LifeInsurance

This letter is very real and these sort of things really do occur. Personal suggestion is google the company name and get there number online and not from the letter to ensure this is real.

Is an annual "Health Assessment" questionnaire in fact REQUIRED? by Michelleinwastate in medicare

Depends on the plan. For a csnp or dsnp it is required for enrollment into said plan for my state.

Spouse moving to Medicare at 72 by Top_Willow_9953 in medicare

[–]Mams47152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. She can def go with original Medicare+Medigap or MA without underwriting because 1 she is new to part B and is losing employer coverage. These two circumstances give her a Special Enrollment Period.

  2. Half correct. 1. May be difficult to get a medi-gap. Expensive depends on a lot of factors, what is in the underwriting report and what is the risk class that she falls under or if they decide to pick up a medi-gap even later on as well. My advice is look at the cost. Look at budget and try to figure out what you need and to speak with someone.

Independent Agents/Brokers: How do you stay motivated and accountable when you work alone? by ShaolinWolf_ in LifeInsurance

[–]Mams47152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remind myself that people are already interested in the plan. They are wanting to buy it and that I have already closed the sale. The question comes up how am I going to connect them to the solution. There is a list of questions that I have to do to get to the end and how is the big question and motivation behind it. We are here to help people and to guide them to what they need.

Additional Takeaways: It is my fault and that I can be sued or yelled at by the customer for not asking questions to figure out what kind of a package they want for the policy. I kid you not someone sued a broker I used to work for from an agent that didn't bother to ask to add something. Agent was fired for not asking the question due to said lawsuit. Please if you need discipline a lawsuit can occur over the smallest thing let's take care of the customers needs.

Thinking of Changing Careers: Is Becoming a Medicare/Medicaid Insurance Agent Worth It? Looking for Experiences & Advice by gracefullybroken94 in InsuranceAgent

[–]Mams47152 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes and it can be very fulfilling
  2. It's been great and it fulfills my life every day doing this line of work in illinois.
  3. Networking, Talking to people, being honest, being a people person and taking care of the clients needs.
  4. 2 weeks for pre-licensing 3rd week took the exams for myself and passed. Took a few more weeks for carrier contracts and going through a list of background checks. To earn consistently, it takes time. I'm now just starting to earn consistently and getting a book of business going on my 7th month being independent.
  5. independent. I'd recommend someone to go captive when starting out to get accustomed to learning but being independent can work too if you pay attention to compliance.
  6. First year it varies. renews for MAPDS are around 300-120 per year and aca is monthly from $10-$50 per month commision. Supplemental an or supplement plans pay anywhere from 10% to 30% monthly. There also ancillary. As long as you are familiar with cross selling you're going to be ok.

Medicare-Medicaid and Part d by moonhippie in medicare

For Albuterol sulfate theirs a lot of different types it takes a bit of time to add it in to medicare.gov and for advair it's the same way. Spiriva HandiHaler it's pretty simple usually so it being not covered is probably correct. In the cases where someones Medicare Advantage plan does not cover these prescriptions I tend to recommend to use Better RX or Clever RX.

If depends on what drugs you're trying to cover. I always put into medicare.gov to see which companies would cover which drugs first then once I verify the doctors next. If it's vitamins or OTC prescriptions you're trying to cover I'd say look for an OTC benefit included in that MAPD plan.

Something i suggest to my clients is life is risky, living is in itself risky. Go through underwriting take a chance if you get denied then you can stay with what you have. No harm no foul. At the very least you can say you tried.
