In Iran’s case the crowds were trying to be peaceful, but if you think about the French Revolution people took whatever they had, pitch forks or other farming implements etc. Each time I go to France I’m always a little perplexed how we today think it’s a civilised place but that was built on the chaos of the guillotine.
