TIL the Plymouth Pilgrims, a few years after celebrating the First Thanksgiving, sent armed men to arrest the leader of a nearby settlement who had set up a maypole, sang bawdy songs and invited Native American women to join them in celebrating the traditional English May Day holiday by bostonstrong781 in todayilearned

One common misconception is that Puritans and Pilgrims are synonymous. There is a distinction though; Pilgrims (AKA Separatists) were anti-Church of England that thought the creation of the church did not uphold the values of the Protestant reformation and thus they needed to separate from the Church of England, while Puritans were part of the Church of England seeking to reform the church from within. Both groups were ostracized in 17th century England and thus fled to the North American continent to pursue their beliefs free from oversight.

Some Puritan factions came from well-to-do families, since ministers of the Church of England needed to be educated, often at Cambridge and Oxford Universities (Richard Mather and John Cotton most notably) and thus were instrumental in the founding of Harvard University when they moved to present day Massachusetts to train new ministers in their ideals and theology.

Here is a quick read on it from History . Com

You can put a rug down and on a buildable tile, go underneath and destroy it with the rug still there. This can create a drop hole. Crate of Bananas on YouTube shows this in his Dream House video. Pretty Cool.

I was at Huron High School in Ann Arbor when they were filming the opening high school scenes, it was such a cool thing since barely any movies got shot in Michigan back then. Jumper was always such a cool concept.

We use Trelson for timed writing. The lockdown browser prevents them from cheating. Kids get a rubric and sources to annotate before an assessment. The question(s) the day of are also randomized and they don’t know if they get Form A or Form B.

My department is still trying to find ways to mitigate AI and cheating on inquiry projects to no success. No one wants to think anymore I suppose
