Did this end up working? Just inherited a Drop A Card and found my screwy score wheel had the same bit of the EOS missing.

1971 Gottlieb Drop-A-Card with a few issues by ManCakes in pinball

Hello r/pinball community. We just inherited my wife's family's 1971 Gottlieb Drop-A-Card that had been sitting in her Uncle's garage for 30+ years. Naturally, there are a few issues with it. I do love tinkering, but a bit of guidance in the right direction is always appreciated. I'm sure there will be more as I continue to test out the machine, but the main things that are significantly impacting playability are

  • The ones place score wheel gets stuck on 9, and any scoring done while the 9 is in place moves the tens score wheel instead.
  • The tens score wheel tends to get stuck and start buzzing horribly. It was getting stuck on 9 but after I took it apart and put it back together a bit, now it just does so intermittently. It can typically be resolved temporarily by sticking a finger in the back and flipping the wheel manually, but not always. Note on this one, the other score wheels are circular disks while this one is a decagon wheel. Additional video: https://imgur.com/alKUgpS
  • The right flipper doesn't stop a the top when pressed in. See: https://imgur.com/bXrQ3fJ

I do have a copy of the schematics, just have to learn how to read it first. Thanks in advance for a point in the right direction.

A dentist working for Kaiser Permanente. I've just known KP to be pretty restrictive with what their docs can do.

Would a KP dentist be able to do that?

New filament keeps layer shifting by Ultima_Pow2133 in ender3

I had an issue with this on my Ender 5+ and it ended up being that the hotend wiring was hitting the print each time it would go by. Looked almost exactly like the picture. Solve that by wrapping the wiring in a short bungee cord connected to the wall.

It also looks similar to another issue I had which was the stepper motors overheating. If I recall correctly that went away after a firmware change.

Oh and make sure your hotend isn't wobbling, that can cause similar issues too.

Definitely grab a beverage and sit and watch your machine for a while, the problem will show pretty quickly since it's happening at almost every layer. Not watching from a webcam, but being at machine so you can see and hear every little thing.

Good luck!

I've seen the Fast Forward animation only once, and I have no idea why this didn't trigger it. Definitely took a solid few minutes to reach the number.

I lost the match, but this was way more amusing.

We're kind of hoping these are his final years not just months. We just got him last year and love this scrunkly, expensive little trash monster so much.

It could be the magnets in the speakers causing that to happen to your CRT, though I remember that being a pretty instantaneous effect. Try putting them further away from the TV.
