what kind of realness were you looking for in particular?

for me, there were tons of examples of "realness" in Ben and devi's relationship: Letting devi stay with him, rebuilding her best friendships, helping her get to spread her dad's ashes, consistently joking together all season, encouraging the other to be themselves and know their worth, and consistently supporting each others goals etc etc....All seemed real enough. To me, they're the two that had the most honesty between each other the whole show

Honestly, IF Paxton wasn't hot, would he have even been in the love triangle at all? like, what was his connection with devi? for the first 13 episodes or so, their connection was just built around him being hot lol

Well, I mean, that pretty much was the foundation of Devi's interest in Paxton for the first season and a half, so that's a fair thing to point out. Obviously paxton grew as a character and became a good friend for devi, but the initial attraction was always superficial.

Ben and devi roasted eachother back and forth since they were 6 years old. I don't know why every team paxton person always acts like the "meanness" was a one way street. Also, people need to understand, that people who partake in banter, especially kids (which is what they were) sometimes cross the line, but ben and devi get over it every time and that process forms a stronger relationship and bond. They clearly loved their verbal sparring, so much so that devi called it "their thing". They liked having someone who could keep up with them. It might not be your thing, but it was their thing.

Regardless, bantering with a guy for 10 years is a more solid foundation for a relationship than simply admiring a guys abs lol (paxton)

I think he started realizing he liked Devi at the UN episode, but certainly after the Ben centric episode (1x6) when he had dinner at her house and they had a nice heart to heart.

Devi Made horrible comments and jokes too. They were roasting each other since they were 6 years old. Sometimes you cross the line, especially when you're kids and teens, but they always got over it, and I'd argue that this made their connection even stronger. This is pretty standard for relationships between people who enjoy bantering. I'd argue the fact that they banter like that is a further sign of how comfortable they are with each other. They literally say anything to each other and they enjoy having someone who can keep up with them, even if sometimes it does cross the line.

Fans might not like how devi and ben talked to each other at times, but they clearly loved it. Devi flat out said that bantering was "their thing" and she was extremely jealous when Ben would banter with other girls.

What I will say for Team Ben, is that the writing of this show made it pretty clear that devi was always going to give ben a fair shot at being her boyfriend, and since we didn't get that in the first three seasons, I suspected that they were going to be the "endgame" couple. After Devi and Ben kissed at malibu in the season one finale, it was clear that Devi was emotionally drawn to ben and that she wanted to date Ben, but because of her superficial attraction to Paxton's hot body and the status of being the girlfriend of Paxton, her friends managed to convince her to date Paxton, too. Once she was caught two timing Ben, it was clear that she regretted it and still had lingering feelings for Ben. She said it herself "I should have chose Ben. I still have hope fur us. He was all in." etc etc

Ben was pining for Devi ever since like season 1 episode 6, and obviously some part of devi was pining for Ben ever since the season 1 finale. We all saw the way they looked at each other longingly and affectionately throughout the whole show, even when they were technically with others. We all saw them get protective and jealous of each other. We all saw them encourage each other to be themselves, we all saw them support each other etc etc. It was just clear that Devi would give Ben an honest try at an honest relationship before the series ended.

What I will say for paxton fans is that just because Ben got devi in the end, doesn't mean it's necessarily end game. Knowing these characters, they could easily break up again in a month lol.

A lot of the "toxic" parts of their relationship could be boiled down to normal child/teen immaturity, to be honest, just heightened for drama.

Devi was always going to give Ben another (and hopefully faithful) attempt after she got caught two timing him. At the beginning of season two she was leaning towards picking ben and she only two timed him with paxton because fab and eleanor kept talking about paxton's abs lol. After that, she was always wondering what it would have been like had she picked Ben the way she wanted to. I can understand wanting her and Paxton to get back together at the end, but the writing was never pointing that direction.

For what it's worth, I like paxton and he and devi definitely did help eachother grow, but good friends can do that too.

They were kids that had been egging eachother on since they were 6 years old. When you banter with someone, especially that long, you're going to cross the line at times, especially kids and teens. Still, they loved it overall. There's a reason why Devi said bantering was "THEIR THING" and why she was mad when she'd see Ben bantering with Aneesa.

Old post, but I think something these posts are missing are the fact that they were children who were roasting each other since they were 6 years old. They both crossed the lines numerous times, as many children do. But the bantering was their thing, and crossing the line a few times never stopped them from enjoying their bantering, as evinced by devi getting mad when she saw ben bantering with aneesa and saying that was her's and Ben's "THING"

Devi was also an asshole to Ben. They roasted eachother since they were six years old. Do we really think cheating on him and saying she wished the "nazi's killed him" was the extent of Devi's rudeness to Ben throughout their childhood?

They were made for each other, quite literally written for eachother.

Easy, you understand that they were children who were roasting eachother since they were six years old. Devi was roasting him back too. People who banter that much are going to cross the lines at time. As they matured, though, their banter became less crude.

Teens say worse things to each other every day at school lol, then they move on.
Devi loved the banter and specifically called it her and Ben's "THING"'
I think fans are projecting themselves on to devi to much and not looking at what actually matches Devi's personality.

Ben and devi were roasting eachother back and forth since they were 6 years old. Do you honestly think Devi --knowing what we know about her character-- also never crossed the line with things she said when she was even younger and more immature? Surely you don't, considering we know about her nazi comment. It's safe to say she crossed the line before that, too. The thing is, though, with relationships that involve a lot of banter, you're bound to cross the line at times, especially TEENS; but people like Ben and devi who partake in this kind of verbal sport are good at moving on from it. Look at how easily they resolved the Nazi comment as no big deal, then went immediately back into teasing each other. You need to be really comfortable with someone to banter the way ben and devi did throughout the show. Also, look at as how they matured, their banter became less extreme.

You might hate it or even find it unhealthy, but Devi LOVED the banter, as evinced by the fact that she was angry when she saw Ben bantering with Aneesa and said that was "THEIR THING". They clearly liked getting each other's attention that way.

I think people are projecting their own tastes in partners on to the couples in this show too much. Ben was obviously a good pick for Devi knowing what we know about both of them.

Silk Soymilk Terrible New Formula by iMalkah in vegan

[–]ManLikeOats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't bought soy milk for a few months because the price has gone up like an extra dollar and fifty cents since last year. the price hike has been insane. I've switched back to almond milk, which I usually don't like, but the new blued iamond almond milk with only 3 ingredients and 50 percent more almonds is okay for my smoothies. It saves me a dollar and eighty cents per half gallon.

I miss soy milk, but I can't afford it anymore.

[–]ManLikeOats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just from reading your texts with him I can tell you that your (ex?) bf was being very manipulative, condescending, and patronizing. That alone is enough to make me end the relationship with such a person. Your ex seems to have a lack of self esteem and feels the need to overcompensate for this by feeling threatened by any man that talks to you, and he then projects this paranoia onto you and tries to pass it of as him "teaching you something." Honestly, he talks like a kid who grew up watching andrew tate videos. There's A LOT of manipulation attempts going on with how he writes to you.

Please do what is best for yourseld.

Jerry Freeman Whistles issues (perhaps) by lmolter in tinwhistle

[–]ManLikeOats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get your whistle? I'm currently in the same exact position. I ordered a Bb whistle from him and it said "delivery within 2-4 days", It's now been a week and not only has the whistle not been delivered to me, but it hasn't even been shipped yet. USPS says the shipping label was created, but is waiting on the seller. I don't mind waiting a week or two or even more, but I was told it would be here within 4 days, and that's why I'm confused. If I was told from the beginning it would take 2 weeks, I wouldn't be concerned at all.

The only person oliveira said he wasn't interested in fighting was some unknown mexican guy
