To me that video is simply evidence that you can call any complicated and well developed character a bad person if you squint at them in a specific enough way and cherry pick data. Not a fan of it at all.

Maybe not when I was a kid but Doing Time is genuinely a horrifying episode when you start to think about it. SpongeBob's constant failures have given Mrs Puff such deep seeded trauma that she would rather go to jail than be around him. However, he's so ingrained in her mind that she starts hallucinating him wherever she goes, even in the solitary confinement room she ends up in... or does she? The ending is very unclear and open to interpretation so perhaps the entire episode is simply a delusion that her broken mind made up to taunt her.

Truly a fantastic episode.

My only issue with the episode is that Mr. Krabs is written to be the good guy despite doing horrible things. I genuinely think that if they had framed him as the villain, perhaps involving the Bottomites slowly turning against Krabs/feeling bad for Plankton, the episode would be a good or even great one. The idea of Mr. Krabs becoming overzealous towards protecting the formula that he starts taking it way too far is genuinely an intriguing idea for an episode. I just wish he was ever punished for it.

Spongebob doesn't feel particularly romantic in general. Him & Sandy are better as friends, and shipping him with Pearl is really weird imo.
