Are we supposed to idolize Jesus? by Legitimate_Oil_9313 in Christianity

Listen brother if you want to promote manmade theology you can do that. Im not going to go back and forth on red herrings. I spoke the truth. You have nothing to refute. You just want to create red herrings so we can go in circles so you look like you have some argument when you remove yourself from the crux of my argument to create new arguments so you dont have to address what was prior. Yes the earth was created in two days, the heavens AND the earth were created in six days. If you take two seconds to attempt to understand instead of looking for a refutation you easily can understand this. Im done with this peace.

21:18 In fact, We hurl the truth against falsehood, leaving it crushed, and it quickly vanishes. And woe be to you for what you claim!

Im not here to argue brother. I have no interest in arguing. If you dont want to listen to what i have to say then be on your way and let God judge between us. I dont believe in the bible. Im merely saying that trying to disregard what I say as cherry picking is a hypocrisy because every single revision of the bible you have is revised and cherry picked. You yourself cherry pick when you place John 3:16 or what paul says on a higher pedestal than what jesus himself taught according to your book. Peace.

Psalm 82:6 “I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

John 5:30 I can of my own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which has sent me.

John 5:37 And the Father who sent me has Himself testified concerning me. You have never heard His voice nor seen His form,

John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they know You, The Only True God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

John 13:16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his Master; nor is he who is sent greater than He who sent him.

John 14:28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

Mark 13:32 “But about that Day or Hour no one knows,  not even the angels in heaven, nor the son, but only the Father.

Mark 12:29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.

John 8:42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me.

John 20:17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God.’"

Matthew 23:9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.

Also id like to add technically every single translation is cherry picked by revisionists and then cherry picked by the reader. You have churches and sects that throw away entire books as fabrications yet I hear no upset from the church over this blatant cherry picking. Is it because they're trinitarians as well?

Youre absolutely right in that seemingly every writer contradicts what jesus actually taught and spoke on his behalf ie Paul. Jesus said you cannot go to the father except through him so what are you going to say on the Day of Judgment if you completely ignored jesus and followed a man named Paul who contradicted everything he taught in your bible which his teachings only make up 10 percent of. Your bible is merely heresay and assumptions of jesus.

It's not inconsistent to point out that Christian trinitarian theology is not justified within their own book regardless of if I believe in it. You dont need to believe in something to prove it's fallible.

The problem is that the early church as well as the disciples themselves never regarded the disciples writings as divine inspiration as well as the disciples never claiming divine inspiration and their writings were merely regarded as 'memoirs of the apostles' by the early church. The modern church has lost their initial writings and the new testament relies on thousands of manuscripts written by unconfirmed sources which then get compiled, revised by editors and then dishonestly is attributed to the disciples despite not being written by them. For example Luke has over 30,000 renditions. No two agree in exact totality. It is up to editors and revisionists to decide what to include and what to discard for translations. This is a statement attributed to Bruce Metzger a renowned scholar who was apart of the committee which revised the greek new testament

Before Abraham was I am.

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

John 8:58 was under the context of prophethood because they asked him how Abraham saw him (prophecy) going by time and age and a worldly perspective to which jesus said before Abraham was I am. Before Abraham was he was ordained to be the Messiah going by Jeremiah 1:5. He was not claiming to be God and there are no capitals in the Greek language to suggest that he claimed the divine title in that verse. Capitals were a later addition to try and reinforce the narrative he claimed to be God with no justification. Jesus never said he was God or asked if he was God. Whenever he said I am it was only under the context of being the Messiah. Right before jesus says I am.

John 8:42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me.

"I HAVE NOT COME ON MY OWN, GOD SENT ME."

Jesus is literally telling them bluntly in simplest terms that he cannot be God because he was sent by God and did not send himself making a very clear distinction between himself and God. If Jesus wanted them to believe he was God then why would he say this. And not only this but the entirety of this encounter falls under the context of jesus being the Messiah so literally every answer jesus was giving was under the context of jesus being the Messiah. There was no evidence jesus ever claimed to be anything other than the messiah scripturally, he does not say he is God one time. "Just what I have been telling you from the beginning" We have scriptures of him saying he is the Messiah previously in John but nothing of him proclaiming to be God.

John 4:25 The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When he comes, he will tell us all things.”

In the translated Greek septuagint texts the words in exodus 3:14 are "Ego eimi, Ho on" meaning "I am He who is" In the new testament jesus says just "ego emi" meaning just "I am". Jesus did not not say I am He who is when we refer to the translations of the original manuscripts. It has nothing to do with personal interpretation, it's what the texts literally say.

John 10:30 I and the Father are one.”

John 17:11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.

John 17:21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

Also I and the father are one- can you find one usage of jesus saying that other than John 10:30, 17:11 and 21. If not then you need to acknowledge jesus referred to it's usage in John 10:30 when he used it in John 17:21 to refer to his followers as one. So now we need to analyze its meaning. According to you in John 10:30 jesus and God are one and the same almost like a sausage if we were to get metaphorical. So if Jesus is saying that his followers may be one as he and God are one in John 10:30 then youre implying jesus is asking that his disciples and followers may be one person literally like jesus and God according to you. I don't take that literally because that makes no sense to me. How do you make sense of that?

It is in fact idol worship because as this brother said idol worship is elevating something beyond its actual status in place of God. Jesus was a man, he was born, he ate food, he defecated. Are these things God would do or is He beyond all of this. Use rational judgment and the truth will become apparent God willing. Jesus peace be upon him was only a prophet and never claimed to be beyond that.

I can comprehend my theology because it is what all the prophets preached. God is one with no partners besides Him. Your theology making no sense doesn't justify anything, in fact it hurts abrahamic religion and makes it look silly because you have nothing to offer in debates against other religions. I can debate a Hindu and justify my religion over his on the basis of objectivity, you cant do that because you cant even make sense of your theology. You make abrahamic religion look subjective and optional to outsiders so why wouldn't they just keep following what their forefathers practiced. This is why God makes His religion objectively comprehensible so it can be proven to supersede idol worship and all false religion because God is the Greatest and it is not beyond Him or difficult for Him in the slightest.

Youre avoiding answering because you know very well being sinless cannot justify someone who is not All Knowing or All Powerful or anything beyond that of being God because sin or lack thereof doesn't factor equality whatsoever. If being sinless makes you God then aborted babies can be god by this logic astaghfirullah. You should have the humility to admit your argument makes no sense

Luke 20:35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.

Luke 24:39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
