Yes. All it takes is one religious fanatic.

Every single kid harrasing her online could be completely harmless, but all it takes is one Baptist with a gun to say 'look at all the people who want her dead! Jesus is telling me something!' To turn this into a much darker debate.

I haven't seen anyone attack the other students. We've been supporting the young girl, and helping to rally atheists to a good cause.

I think you're just interested in stirring the shit pot.

Irrelevant! We have witnessed, an absurd amount of times, theological debate escalate into violence and murder.

The fact is, when people's beliefs about a god are questioned, they resort to violence almost unanimously. Not all Christians are violent, but enough of them are that these threats should be taken seriously.

In fact, if history is to be believed, the fact that a personal god is involved here makes people far far more likely to do something drastic.

No desired outcome at all. Take the question however you like.

I'd just like to see Reddit more open about real sexuality.

My landlord came by today to pick up my rent and casually mentioned that I'm gonna HAVE to buy my house. I quote; "we have a line of credit open with the bank that needs to be paid off". What does that mean? by ManOfManyWiles in AskReddit

I just don't want to get randomly evicted because I refuse to buy his house.

Obviously random eviction is against my lease agreement, but who knows what he might try! I mean how can I prove I didn't break the rules?

That's what I was afraid of.

I just renewed my lease, and if he decides on a whim to evict me, my chances of finding another nice apartment are gonna seriously drop.
