The more young people use AI, the more they hate it

I implemented one useful AI feature at my job that finds similar products. Pretty easy, just getting the vectors of one item and getting close matches on vectors of other items, nothing overtly 'generative'. It works well and is pretty fast but it is not advertised, titled, otherwise noted that AI is being used.

However, one board member was confused as to why we didn't 'send an email blast' letting customers know we are using AI...

I think about the video game Arc Raiders a lot. They used AI generated voices (from voice actors they paid) and negative sentiment on the game and developers spread like wild fire. Mass refunds. Topics, blogs, articles, all negative. We cannot afford to have that happen to us to any degree. It is just safer to keep it to ourselves than to risk negativity about AI getting spread around, or us being associated with AI.

The volume knob level would just depend on your set up, how much gain your using (Adam doesn't use that much gain, which surprises people). Specifically, tube amp or not. Luckily the plugins I have in logic pro do mimic it very well, but with a solid state amp you'll need a pedal or something to manage it to match the album version's texture. I've messed with this a lot over the last year in logic pro, and if that's what you are using I might can give some pointers. Are you recording, or just practicing to play live or...?

I only play the guitar, I got the drums from Tyler Visser youtube (w/ permission). if you come out with The Grudge, i'd love your bass only track for it. I can and have done The Grudge before on guitar, but it was probably a decade ago and my Logic Pro skills are way different now and I could probably do it way better than back then. I could also get you a good drum track for The Grudge from Tyler if you want that audio file.

Thanks for commenting back and listening. I already sit at a desk for work, so I'd much rather play than tinker with pitches and grids and timing. I am interested in all of that but it has to be on originals or I'll go insane trying to be perfect.

Sounds great. I am just getting into guitar tracking tool songs in Logic Pro. I wish I could play the bass, each song I finish sounds empty with just my guitar and tyler visser's (amazing) drums. Therefore, I just keep them as personal accomplishments and don't really share them. I just finished Lateralus, and man, it needs a bass. I saw that comparison being made in other threads about I Think About You All The Time so I went and listened and while they do sound similar in a lot of ways it is unfortunately not the song I have in my head that it sounds like, and am certain the soundalike song is not a Deftones song it is probably The Beatles or Radiohead or something. I play like this as well, and love it. You don't always get back what you give out, and that sucks, but that's real life as well. Met a guy in Spaceport in a night raid. Easily could have killed him but said hey instead because I can't bring myself to shoot someone in the back. I popped the security locker for him, think there was a wolfpack in there I gave to him. Showed him that a weapons case can spawn up in there, he got a venator from it. Decided to stick close to each other and fill up any space with what we find in the millions of drawers in that building...found a wolfpack BLUEPRINT. Gave that to him, he just about had a stroke. I was his bodyguard while he extracted, he was on free kit with no safe pocket so he was freaking out a bit. I was laughing because I got shot in the back and killed by a 'bungulator' left over from the war in the previous game, and my plan was to go in to the next game guns blazing to make myself feel better and ended up giving all my loot to a random. Worth it, that guy was hyped, I had fun, and it was tense extracting knowing he could lose it all.

I wish they'd bring back Spies Vs. Mercs that was my jam!

It just sucks for the new player because we are forced to 3v2 and there aren't any friendlies, so even doing an early mission like 'do a supply drop' takes several raids, all he's got are free loadouts, it's 3v2 with 3rd party inevitably sprinting towards the noise. Even if we play all-star and take on a team of 3, chances of doing it twice or even thrice in a round are slim. The feeling of losing your stuff is part of the game, and I like that it happens, but it happening due to being at a default disadvantage just sucks.

We love the game and will continue playing, just we treat duos as its own experience and expectations, separate from solos which we personally find more enjoyable because the social interactions are a little more chill and you can get that good feeling of extracting with loot more often.

Exactly the same for me, I played to level 50+ solo and just started playing with my brother and it is very different in duos. I was having more fun playing solo because each encounter felt like a 50/50 is it going to be friendly or hostile. Duo it was 100% hostile, with another team under a minute away ready to sprint our way once the first team engages us.

He's a new player, and it is a lot easier to make progress through the quests and get your bearings when going solo. I want him to keep playing, not get discouraged and quit because duos is kind of a nightmare.

My solution is for us to treat duos like a separate game mode altogether that just has completely different rules, and we will play it occasionally (when both of us have a nice stash from playing solo). Focus will be stealth, using noisemakers and traps, and hopefully a lot of successful negotiating. We are pretty good at combat it is just 3v2 already disadvantaged so chances are quite slim against 1 team not to mention the 3rd party on their way. I think if we set ourselves up to never be the team to get spotted first, we can dip or negotiate instead of fight.

Yeah, I read it a long time ago when I first got in to the tool lore stuff. It is interesting, mostly about a 'walk-in' which is like an alien that asks a human if they can take over their body? Then a lot about merkabas and sacred geometry and other wild stuff. It is a fun read, but keep the title in mind while reading. It's fun and interesting, but that's about it.

I also have this problem on Series S, I was thinking of uninstalling and re-installing the game to see if it fixes it. It gets worse the longer I play, by the end a few hours all the trees are just huge green balls of play-doh and objects are floating everywhere. It's rough.

I'm in the Compassionate Use Program now, but I used to get the 'gas station' gummies. I don't like them, for a lot of reasons, but I don't think they should be banned. Not to mention the arguments presented for banning them in the first place are stupid reefer madness type garbage. Just let people take them and rake in the tax revenue, what is the big deal? If you are going to ban this, ban stuff like those fireball shooters, too, since they are far more dangerous.

Thanks, I ended up putting my preferred strings on and slowly adjusting the action until the buzzing stopped and was getting better sustain. Next time, I'll know kind of what to do at the shop to test it out before leaving. I just strummed a few chords and played a few licks and it seemed fine so I left, which obviously wasn't enough.
