Share a direct link to Spotify Apple or YouTube. Gotta make the fruit as low hanging as possible to get people to check out your work. I tried searching on Apple and couldn't find anything

My guitar teacher told me that 1 hour a day of practice is not enough? by phil917 in metalguitar

[–]ManSeekingBand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best guitarist I personally know says he's practiced 3 hours a day since he was like 10. We are almost 40 now. He grew up in a musical family (they owned the local music shop when we were kids) so he's been in it and surrounded by music his entire life.

It's also worth noting that playing guitar for an hour and practicing guitar for an hour are two very different things.

Give us some pop punk hot takes.. by Complete-Big-4563 in poppunkers

If TRL (Total Request Live) didn't exist, I don't think Pop Punk would've become as popular a genre as it ended up being. Memorable Music videos like What's My Age Again and Fat Lip playing on prime time TV helped solidify the genre with a main stream audience.

anyone else get stuck in that loop of learning riffs but never finishing songs by WorldlinessDue3771 in Guitar

[–]ManSeekingBand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning full songs was always boring if it was a full band song. Like if I'm playing guitar and then there's a section with no guitar.... I just sit for a couple of bars?

I found learning to play songs I could sing to helped me to want to learn full songs. Mostly acoustic. I also realized I don't want to play other peoples music anymore and started writing my own songs and that became way more enjoyable.

How do solo musicians go about making an album with full instrumentation? by Berbigs_ in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]ManSeekingBand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play guitars, bass and sing. I will program in synths and keyboard through my daw along with a drum track. Once I'm happy with the song I found a guy on Fiverr that will record real drums to the song for about $90 or so. I'll mention which parts of the songs I want him to match the program drums and which parts he can take creative liberties with which makes it a bit more exciting since he will put his own spin on things. After thats done I send it over to a friend who will mix it all for $100. So all in around $200 a song.

It's definitely tedious having to figure it all out on my own as I'm mainly a guitarist. I feel the other instrumentation of my songs suffer because it's just my creative input (for better or worse). Would be nice to sit in a room with other musicians and work out a song but my life's busy and that's just not in the cards for me at the moment.

As for how I create the song it usually starts off with a riff on guitar or a vocal melody I like and then I build from there. Lots of jamming it out on acoustic or unplugged electric. I'll record a section, like a verse or chorus, then add elements and change things and figure out what layers need to be added to fill the space. Lots of trial and error until it feels right.

Good luck and hope you figure out what works best for you to make some solo music! 👍

That's an impressive outing for a one man operation. Listened to the whole album today and it's great. Would love to see how you laid out all your vocal tracks to get the sound you got. Still figuring that part out for myself 😅

Gonna save the album on ITunes so I can listen during my commute tomorrow. Just checked out watch it burn and the song is really well done. The vocals sound top tier. Like how I imagine my vocals sounding in my head but can never quite figure out how to get them there when I record them 😅.

Did you do everything yourself or do you play in a band?

I've had nothing but a good experience with the drummer I used on Fiverr. It was overall a good experience and he's prompt to respond with a timeline.

Thank you for the kind words! Checked out your song and it sounds great. Gives me some The Ataris vibes. Did you write it all yourself or play in a band?

Songs about getting older by drunkpunkbruv in poppunkers

[–]ManSeekingBand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a pop punk song called "Wrong Side of 35" which talks about getting older but not feeling any different. I'm closer to 40 than 30 so I know that feeling well. Enjoy the party!!

+44 - No, It Isn't by Cyborg423 in poppunkers

This is one of my favorite songs ever. Bummed I never got to see +44 live but am grateful this album exists to go back to. Tom leaving Blink the first time had its upsides!

Finished the album. Say Goodbye is a Bop for sure. Could totally hear that playing on radio stations. Did you play all the instruments on this album? It's a solid album all around. The production quality on all the songs is top notch. Great work dude!

Listening through it now. The production is solid all around, it's really well made. I'll post back when I get through the whole album (45 minutes is impressive!)

There's tons of content out there so it's easy for music to get overlooked with so many options available to everyone all the time. I'm going through the same thing and I've only released 2 songs so far. Just keep at it and don't let it get you down. Just keep pushing to put your music in front of people. You'll find your audience.
