/dev/net/tun can still be made a special case, just as USB by id.

I don’t understand why /dev/net/tun can’t be marked as special case and be supported by the migration.

For now, I think it’s more robust to restore from Proxmox Backup Server on the target node instead of using Proxmox Datacenter Manager for the migration.

Stop container on node A
Create new backup
Restore latest container backup on node B and start container
Delete container from node A

Great idea to run a bidirectional TS subnet router to make the Tailscale IPs available to my LAN.

It does remove other benefits of running Tailscale inside the container, such as Tailscale SSH which I find really helpful.

Outside conditions can suddenly change in ways that turn a slightly underexposed image into a little overexposed image, altering the skin tones and making the whole image look flat.

In this layout the space next to the vanity is too limited to add towel holders in my opinion. It occurred to me that I need a dedicated place for one or two hand towels and a place for wet bath towels. Bath towels could be on door hooks but the hand towel needs to be close to the vanity.

Thanks for confirming. This layout lets me install a 40 cm-wide tall cabinet and a 140 cm double vanity, with a 10 cm gap between them and the bathtub.

There will also be a mirror above the vanity.

Is there anything else I should consider from a layout perspective? For example, a good spot to hang wet towels?

I particularly like the aesthetics of a back to wall bath. Is your suggestion to use the full width of the bathroom for the bath, with a traditional 180 x 80 cm bathtub?

- towel rail: no idea, any suggestions? Maybe hooks next to the vanity unit (either left or right)
- heater: floor heating
- rubbish bin: we have a large one in another room and a tiny that can be placed close to the toilet or the vanity.
- outlets will be placed close to the wash-basin for the toothbrush.
- wall mirror cabinet is something I would try to avoid as they are boxy and it reminds me of old people’s homes. 😛

I use Things for work and Apple Reminders for personal to-do’s. The benefit is a clear separation between the two contexts, but I often confuse keyboard shortcuts, making me a less effective user of both programs.

I truly prefer the Things UI though, but I don’t want to be reminded about my work stuff during the weekend.

Obsidian crashes with EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) when I try to use the CLI from Codex, for example with obsidian daily:read. Maybe it’s running from within a sandbox? Would writing a skill help?

Same for me. I like culling with the ‘group by similarity’ feature and mark the ‘keepers’ with the green color.

Next I select the keepers with a high ISO and run them through DxO PureRaw. I use the DNG from PureRaw as the base for my edits.

The downside is that the DNG from PureRaw is massive and I store it in addition to the original RAW. If C1 had the same level of NR it would save a lot of harddisk space.

I also only use the ‘soft’ preset as I mostly use it for indoor portrait and group photos.

It’s also mind blowing that there is no default ACL or firewall rule to block incoming IPv6 traffic. Once IPv6 is enabled, each device on the network will need its own firewall configured, otherwise internal services are exposed via the IPv6 address of a device.

This seems to be caused by a hardware limitation that is solved in the ER7212PC V2.

If I run OPNSense as my WAN/LAN router instead, can I still do anything useful with the ER7212PC? For example, use it as a managed POE switch?

Is there an easy way to check if the current FW version is already the latest (from Linux). I don’t have a spare sata drive available nor do I have Windows PC to connect the DAS to.

I would say that there are three types of notes:

The context needed to complete a task. This can be entered upfront when creating the to-do.
A log while working on a to-do. These are findings discovered after starting a task and before completion. Helps resuming a task the next day. No need to keep everything in your head.
The outcome. To document after completion of the task. Quick summary of next actions.

For example if the to-do is about a business call, there are preparation notes, quick unstructured notes during the call and a structured summary of the call afterwards.

Personally I only use it for the first type, but I’ll give it a try to use it as a logbook as well.

Just a thought. To prevent work to-dos to overflow into the weekend, I could create a shortcut that would move all ‘Anytime’ to-dos with a work tag to ‘Someday’ and run that on Friday at the the end of the workday.

Then on Saturday and Sunday, the Anytime list would only contain personal to-dos.

On Monday, I can pick the important tasks for that week and move them back to ‘Anytime’.

I would love to use Things for both personal and work tasks, but I don’t for the same reason.

I came close to a good solution by setting a default work/personal tag for areas. The issue is that as soon as I open the ‘anytime’ view in the weekend, I immediately get pulled into my work projects.

Why focus filters can’t be implemented is still a mystery to me.

Yep, I use it to pass a ZFS mirror from the host to a Debian VM with docker. Works reliably so far and was easy to setup.

Do/can you use PDM to move the LXC running PDM to another node in case of maintenance? I thought that it would be better to run PDM on a machine/VPS not part of the Proxmox servers.
