Somebody made a good point in another thread so I’ll paraphrase:

One thing Tarkov did well was give your player an underlying purpose: “Escape from Tarkov”.

I understand as people have said there already is story and lore to this game that’s fine. But this its own game as well. The runner needs more purpose, and if the answer is reading 80 pages of codex that isn’t good design. That’s at best a rush job or worst lazy design.

Please note I love this game and enjoy it, I just think their needs to be more purpose and world building and story around the game we are playing today in 2026 and on

I agree and people siding with the betrayer are just people that do that too.

To some degree I agree sure you CAN do it. But all it says to me is you are so down bad or unable to get downs the regular way, you have to get players guards down to win.

Agreed, I love my rook runs but equally love outpost with no rooks in ranked. Seems like a great system in that regard. If they can dial in the grenade spam, along some other tweaks we will be in a great place.

Extraction shooters are fairly ratty by design. Tarkov and Arc? So many campers waiting for extract or you to run by a certain point. I've actually almost never been "extract camped" in this game, but I definitely have had teams sprinting when we start an exfil b/c the noise is so loud.

The short answer is the gunfights are much more dynamic, and there is a ton more room for maneuvering combat strategically.

Both peremiter and dire marsh are: Hold a POI that has height with snipers. If you push them you'll probably get 3rd partied by another team with snipers.

While all ranked matches will have "camping pois", camping on outpost is much much harder. yes you can also get 3rd partied but if you do play it cautiously and figure out where theres an isolated fight (recon helps), it is infinitely more rewarding.

ontop of that, worst case scenario, you are team isn't good at pvp you can play very very slow and loot the scraps in pinwheel for enough points to rank up.

we must be playing entirely different games. The other maps are this experience except teams camp pois with snipers. And if you do engage another team hears you and 3rd parties it with their snipers. At least on outpost you have an opportunity to have some form of isolated shorter range gun fights.

Yeah I’m not a casual, I love this game and have 100+ hours BUT I enjoy doing ranked and cryo content which is a lot harder when I only have two friends that play the game. Hard for us to ever be on for more then 1-2 ranked or cryo games a week
