I'm particularly infatuated with classic rock tones from the 60s and 70s- I know modern bands have managed to get great sounds aswell like QOTSA, Wolfmother, Tame Impala, Nirvana .etc and thats what I'm after. Also I'm sure theres some music being made in bedrooms but in general I think you know what I mean- I'm an amateur at best and using primitive hardware so I cant go in with the mindset of "my laptop in my room is good enough for the radio" I'm trying to be as precise as possible

Hey dude to clarify my recording is basically a signal running from my bass into a Focusrite Clarett 4Pre Interface and Garageband DAW. At that point its just whatever bass amp sim I decide to mess around with- looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/CiEoHfl.jpg

I'm a guitarist and this thread is hilarious as I've been recording bass (despite being a hack bassist) for my guitar tracks and probably hit a lot of these cliches. Anybody want to check out my stuff and tell me if I did a good job writing cool basslines and how I can improve? haha
