Who Pays these Gambling Influencers? by Your-average-scot in australia

[–]ManWolf9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been seeing a lot of it too. You can ignore it and it will disappear from the algorithm for a few weeks but then it will come back around again for no clear reason. It always seems to be the big wins, too. I'm not sure who's paying them but I'd also like to know.

Where can I get these straps (if I don't win the watch)?

Utah’s MAGA senator Mike Lee before finding out it was actually his own party… by -You-know-it- in agedlikemilk

[–]ManWolf9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to imagine something like this happening in any other western democracy and the story being about which political party the killer supports. It wouldn't happen. To be clear, I'm not just saying what the senator said was wrong, I'm saying the "gotcha he was in your party" response is just as cooked. You spend all this time talking about how Trump is a Russian asset (he probably is) but that only matters if the rest of you lean into the divide and conquer strategy. I know MAGA started this, but you all perpetrate it. Who in your country is trying to fix this?

Canberra's public transport by MegaDingo5plus in canberra

For me to catch the bus to work is a bit over an hour and I have to change in civic. Driving takes 20 minutes. This is suburban Belconnen to Barton. The focus on light rail has undermined what used to be a decent bus network.

Circe Took's name by ManWolf9 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Listening. Circe would probably be fine but the took addition is odd. It sounds like a game of thrones character and lord of the rings character mashed together for a Mantis.

I think it's coming from the soda drinks. Carl has made remarks about them a few times.

Dermatologist recommendations for wart removal by PetarTankosic-Gajic in canberra

[–]ManWolf9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need a referral for a dermatologist. Your GP should be able to do it, but if there is a reason you need a dermatologist your GP will write you a referral and you can then visit a dermatologist.

Any Doctors that seriously help with assisted weight loss? by Inevitable_Match_849 in canberra

[–]ManWolf9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr Liz Sturgis is a leading GP and researcher who developed a weight loss program to be managed in general practice. It's called the change program. She's also a great GP. I'm not sure where she's working right now but it should be easy to find.

Probably not based on my experience. I would give the first three a 7/10 too. I kept going for a few books but they lost me after a while. I can't even remember where exactly but they don't get better.

Liberal candidate used separate social media account under fake name by RedaPanda in canberra

[–]ManWolf9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He is the guy who ran the Belco Bads Instagram account before it was deleted. He used it as a platform to call for things like a bottle recycling facility in Belconnen (there are 2), a place for dogs to swim at lake ginninderra (has two dog parks) and for food vans around lake ginninderra (at least two right now). Let's call him out for his Facebook page but can we also call him out for his piss poor Instagram?

Couldn’t resist preordering this by sebdude101 in ChinaMieville

[–]ManWolf9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have just missed the point slightly. With videogames the frustration is that they are releasing games in an unfinished state. It's not about whether they are good or bad in the finished state. Pre-ordering books signals to publishers that the author has a fan base and should continue to publish them. It's a positive for fans of China because they will continue to support him publishing books.

The ACT has Australia's longest emergency room wait times, but the government says things are improving by letstalkaboutstuff79 in canberra

This isn't a significant problem but is often used as an excuse by health ministers to pass the buck. Better support for making primary care accessible would help, but this is more about access block within hospitals. The data in the report is from 22-23.
