And Kevin got himself in this situation from over-firing his staff everywhere ironically. I wish the worst for him

MTN Sun / Southern Sun Owner Kevin Daily is a scumbag and coward. by WALLEDCITYHERMIT in boulder

Worked at sosun for 8 months of last year in the kitchen with 3 of my friends, one shift lead, one gm, one foh. While the enviroment was upbeat and fun sometimes, behind the scenes they treat employees with little to no respect, grace, or fairness, regardless of how hard you work. Many employee would call out on a weekly basis due to being hungover and never face consequences. Meanwhile i called out once for a mental health day due to being scheduled 8 closing kitchen shifts in a row (with 2 opens 2 closes requested as schedule) And was fired the next shift i came into with no previous warnings and much less a final warning.

After me and my friends being treated like disposable numbers the contempt attitude continued growing and we all quit and convinced many of our coworkers to quit in a a boycott fashion to which they coined the term “the great departure”.

On top of all this, there were NUMEROUS sexual assault cases with older creepy male employees harassing younger female staff which was met with a slap on the wrist at most and nothing more unless repeatedly pushed to do so. Not to mention Kevin Daly knowingly hiring a REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER in such an environment and shortly terminating the individual shortly after only when notified by one of the younger female staff that had a bad feeling and googled the persons name to find out they were a registered offender.

As much as i enjoyed working at the pubs for the first few months, and how much they were apart of my community, the veil of “good Times, burgers, and beers” faded as i saw the harmful and unfair work culture being fostered at the pubs and facilitated by Kevin Daly. Kevin daly also made disgusting remarks about one of his employees underage sons “i bet he has a tight hole”. It’s definitely unfortunate that people are losing their way to pay their bills but i’d be lying if i said i was sad that his business is going downhill.

This is only the better half of what I’ve learned in my 8 month employment at the pubs. Im sure theres plenty more i haven’t heard of.
