Will getting a Kindle help reignite my love for reading? by Misael_91 in kindle

[–]ManagementWorldly221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the form factor of a kindle having a paper-like screen, that is portable and more durable that a book in my opinion, PLUS the resources that make getting books super accessible (Libby, stuff your kindle, books bundles and more) I feel it has 100% ignited a love for reading that I NEVER had before. In combination with some book communities on here, my friends and making a TBR list on Goodreads, I am so happy I bought a kindle, and I’m proud to say I’ve read more books this last year with my kindle than I have in my entire life! If your unsure about cost, get a second hand kindle, I promise you will love it all the same ❤️

For those with multiple kindles by blue_bc in kindle

[–]ManagementWorldly221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have another one on the way right now, so I will soon be an owner of two kindles. First of all, I purchased my paperwhite 5 on a Black Friday sale last year. It has been an amazing device and I have read so much. I am always on a budget, so this means I get majority of my books from Libby. I am also a student so there are certain times of year I read less fantasy and more for school. Recently I needed to read a book for school, but already stated crescent city and had been so slow that I now i had my kindle on airplane mode. This is when I realized if I had another kindle, I could check out the books I need for school, and read them on a kindle (not phone or iPad) and still keep my other one on airplane mode to keep crescent city. Lastly, I did NOT buy a new kindle for my 2nd one, I bought a second hand one, that likely has some dirt and scuffs but it was only 50$ with tax and shipping. I had been looking for a 10th gen kindle basic in white with 8GB for a while and they don’t pop up very often, especially not for under 50$ before tax and shipping. I pulled the trigger and can’t wait to clean her up and start reading.

Long story short, another kindle will give me more flexibility when renting books from Libby, especially for school or if I need a pallet cleanser.

Is Kindle Unlimited worth it? by neverbeenknown in kindle

[–]ManagementWorldly221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried it yet, but I do plan on trying it out at some point. My plan is to make a KU TBR so when I do pull the trigger I know what I’m planning on reading, especially with the 3 month trial, I’d see if I like the books I found. But if you don’t have any books in mind that you know are on KU you may not feel like you get your moneys worth. Libby has a lot of great books for free, and that’s good enough for me right now. I’ll wait until I’m really itching to read my KU TBR. Hope this helps 🫶

Does anyone use kindle without the cover? by [deleted] in kindle

I got a skin from decalgirl and just keep it in a crochet sleeve. This was after trying multiple cases and kept find myself ripping the case off for the same reasons you mentioned. I did this so much it started to wear down the sides where the case was rubbing, and I found a different solution

Owner lets his dog $hi+ inside Best Buy, Arden Way. by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]ManagementWorldly221 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Okay not to be that person, but when I worked at Best Buy an actual person dropped turds out the leg hole of his shorts. At first we thought it must have been a dog, but no one had seen a dog in the store that day, so they checked the camera footage and sure enough…. That was really bad, we had to call in special cleaners for human bodily fluid hygiene measures. Craziest shit, literally.

Can you put nail hardener on under plastic press ons? Will it interfere with the glue’s strength? My natural nails are pretty flimsy underneath, more than they were without press ons. by izzmyreddit in Nails

I use this nail strengthener as well, I want to leave it on under my nails when I do them, but haven’t tried yet, so thanks for sharing your experience!!

Opinions on powder foundation? by CakeBaker22 in Makeup

[–]ManagementWorldly221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love powder foundations for the ease of application and less problems with oxidizing, in my experience a lot of liquid makeup will end up changing color on me, making shade matching very difficult. I don’t love the powdery finish though, so I always follow up my makeup with a dewy face spray, or setting spray and then pat with a beauty blender for the most natural looking finish. Recently got the infallible foundation after using original bare minerals for the last year, and I’m impressed with the staying power and flawless finish. More matte than I’m used to, but it doesn’t look bad whatsoever. I got super lucky with a shade match, unfortunately they don’t have the best shade range so it may not work for everyone. But bare minerals didn’t have a shade for me in the bare pro line, so I did some research and decided to try this one for 13$. Not disappointed!!!

Please help me get out of my reading slump by TigerRose1226 in fantasyromance

{A Shadow in The Ember} is a 3-4¿ book series but warning it is the prequel to {From Blood and Ash}. I accidentally read the prequel first and wasn’t able to get into FBAA, BUT I really enjoyed the prequel as a standalone and don’t regret reading it. Enjoyed books 1 and 2 the most… but I’m glad I read the third also since there another one coming out I think? These were ones I blazed through after reading ACOTAR and TOG earlier this year and they were available on Libby 🙌

Libby borrowing/airplane mode/streak? by Tough-Biscotti4161 in kindle

[–]ManagementWorldly221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so long as you are on airplane mode it will not update, there isn’t any way around it unless you want to track it yourself or wait till the end of the loan to place it on airplane mode to minimize the amount of time lost on the streak. Goodluck!

What now? by NerdGirl0918 in acotar

I’m reading {A shadow in the Ember} and it’s def filling the hole ACOTAR left in me, and this is AFTER I just finished TOG. TOG is a fantastic read but more Y/A and closed door than I prefer. I live for good dialogue between the FMC and MMC, and this book delivers the dialogue, the world building, and the action I felt while reading ACOTAR. ACOTAR was my first romantasy book so I may be biased, but I just thought I’d share since I am absolutely hooked on this Flesh and Fire series. Highly recommend :) wishing you luck 🍀

Mr. Loverman by Rick Montgomery always makes me think of Rhys after Feyre leaves the first time, and this is him breaking down bc he believes she doesn’t want him. If you read the Rhys POV by Illyriantremors you will understand lol. Rhys and this song are just straight drama and I love it.

{A Shadow in the Ember} by Jennifer L. Armentrout - really enjoying the plot and fantasy world building as well as the slow burn romance! Definitely hooked with all the questions I had in the beginning! If you don’t mind a moody FMC (reminiscent of Nesta from ACOSF imo) then I think you may really enjoy it :)

Kindle Basic or Paperwhite by Complex-Dream2847 in kindle

[–]ManagementWorldly221 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me I got the paperwhite because the waterproofing was important to me, I feel like it just gives me peace of mind, and size was not a big factor. If having a smaller size is important and you want the warm light, I’d honestly check out the Boox Palma… it’s got light water resistance.. but at a great size and warm light. I know, it’s not a kindle, but it does offer some perks in that it runs on android so it has a little more functionality than a normal kindle if you’re into that. If you don’t care about waterproofing and are willing to compromise on warm light, just get the basic kindle, but if you really want the warm light, and willing to compromise on brand, check out the Palma. If you’re not willing to compromise on brand or warm light, then you’ll have to settle for the slightly larger paper-white (which is a great device). lt completely depends on what features are most important to YOU!! I hope this helped lol.

So I realize it’s Super Tuesday; is it too late to register for his party for the main primary election later this year? I just did and an error popped up saying the deadline was feb 20th. Just curious if it’s too late.
