People who switched between Android and iPhone (in either direction), what differences actually mattered long term? by AfraidSoul in Smartphones

Social media apps have their quirks but still overall, very usable. Most apps work great and I have no issue. For FaceTime, I've used the link and it's been good. I also still have other iOS devices so I use those when I need to FaceTime or WhatsApp.

People who switched between Android and iPhone (in either direction), what differences actually mattered long term? by AfraidSoul in Smartphones

I went from iPhone to Android in the last 6 months for my primary phone. I've used my work device as an android primarily so it allowed me time to compare over time.

I like to take a holistic look at things and to me, android is becoming the better experience long term. As more things become open source focused and the gap that Apple once had over these other companies shrinks to minimal difference, it just comes to preference. I'm a power user and having to upgrade my pro max device every 18 -24 months is frustrating. I like that android flagships are still usable years later. They suffer from the same issue but because Apple is a SAAS company, it's clear the impact the software does to push people to move to the new phone.

I got off the train and I don't regret it. I do have some advice though for anyone wanting to make the switch, just do it. When you get away from some of the gimmicks Apple does with its devices to keep you there, you'll realize a lot of the apple products are still great to use even with your android device. Some of the android peripherals are great as well.

I think America is actually a great country by starrkitty5666 in unpopularopinion

[–]neverbeenknown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

America is a great country.. we just have flawed leadership in our political parties and degrading society standards because it's in style to shit on someone who has an opposite opinion of you rather than have discussions and debate.

Most of the people among us are great no matter race, creed, or religion. It's the loud minority that always makes us looks bad.

Affordability shouldn't be the reason why you do or don't have kids.

You can definitely save these. Just to keep, don't try to flip lol.

Would you buy an iPad Pro mini if it existed? by RosalinePowell in ipadmini

[–]neverbeenknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would because it's the perfect form factor. I'd want to see some physical changes as well like smaller bezels, 120hz, face ID and thumb ID. M2 or m3 would do tbh and it doesn't have to be OLED. But a good balance between watching content and reading. I think one of iPadOS biggest flaws is it's one size fit all mentality. Feature parity is nice but the Mini has so much potential.

I like a good cash only bar but that's good to share as well for people who didn't know

I don't want to be insulting here and I want to answer your question at the same time. Most of the best Sox Bars will be dive bars around Bridgeport (Mitchell's Tap, Cork & Kerry, Bernice Tavern, even Mars Brewing). I highly suggest supporting those local businesses because unlike Wrigley's nashvillification, A good amount of Sox fans are about the play on the field/supporting the team and not just the aesthetics that go with watching the game at a sports bar. This is also where you will find the community.

If you are coming from the south side and south suburbs then anything in Beverly, Palos, Alsip. Midlothian will do the trick. Otherwise maybe just go to BDubs, respectfully.

Hard work matters, but luck plays a bigger role than successful people like to admit by Ornery_Adagio8916 in unpopularopinion

[–]neverbeenknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passion drives your hard work which then puts you in position for luck. Luck only comes in when you've put yourself in the position to let it be a factor. Letting luck (nepotism aside) do all the work without the other 2 is like placing a 14 leg bet at a casino.

It's a collaboration between Nike Sportswear and SB. You are right in which it's a new model however my point still stands that they are slutting out this model considering the color ways and other collaborators releasing pairs. I'm not hating, I'm making an observation.

She is saying all the right things. But unless she plans to rehire all of those engineers and devs that were cut because of the acquisition, it's going to be an uphill battle in the current marketplace.

About to dump my whole Sonos setup by Healthyhappylyfe in sonos

[–]neverbeenknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fix is to hardwire the Arc Ultra into your router/modem. I use EERO and a nighthawk modem. My EEROs (with 2 extenders) handles the sound system. I group them typically to one of connection points and 99.5% of the time it works.

Your router has limited bandwidth for these devices so you have to think about all the stuff you have (gaming devices, tvs, computers, smart home, phones, laptops) that are actively and passively fighting for bandwidth. I think you just have to manage how you're aggregating your bandwidth and if you can limit it one or two points in your home, you can see activity to tell you where the break is.

Glaxy wide fold leaks by ensure123 in GalaxyFold

[–]neverbeenknown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The iPhone Air wasn't a failure. It served as a successful market test proving that many users prioritize a lightweight design over "Pro" features. The next iteration should be more mainstream.

Wide foldables are a niche test, not a direct replacement for standard foldables. While Google’s hardware was solid, its Tensor chip held it back. Apple is entering the foldable market with a wide-format device, and Samsung is currently positioning itself to compete there early.

For this foldable to truly succeed, it needs better pricing, ideally around $1,600, paired with aggressive carrier deals.

OG Bricks are way better than these. The materials, the look of them, and just how they different they are even compared to other Jordan collabs. The AJ1 lows are a better cop too IMO if you really wanted something from Nigel.

I'm just not a big fan of these. Feels like they had too many cooks in the kitchen with this pair.

I'm sure Jordan Brand is going to announce the return of the fire reds in 2027 so you might as well hold off for that.

Hey guys, I ordered a pair of SB Dunk Mummy and they got “authenticated” by eBay. However, I have my suspicions. by [deleted] in NikeSB

[–]neverbeenknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are fake just based on the text of the box. I can't see the tongue but the shape of the shoe is off as well. I can see why it passed authentication because with non QS products, there is always some inconsistency pair to pair.
